I have upgraded to the Bold, it is pretty impressive! I have had a BB pearl in the past and it didnt last 2 weeks, ended up returning it and going back to your bog standard phone. But the BOLD! What can I say, its got everything I wanted a QWERTY keyboard, 3G, use of Facebook and msn messanger.
I was hmmming about the 2mp camera but that is still good qaulity plus has flash. The only problem I'm having at the moment is not being able to recieve MMS, I can send them, but just can't recieve, so I'm not sure if its the settings I need to adjust or phone my network....

Hello.

I've been using the HTC touch diamond for a couple of months and im still not used to the touchscreen (prefer buttons) and thinking of switching to the BB bold.
Doesnt help that I live in Canada and its very cold, and touch screen just doesnt work for me..plus batt life of diamond sucks.

is the bold a good choice of change? since i text/email quite a bit.and surf moderately.. or is the javelin a better choice?

thank u for ur time.

William, 02 Jan 2009Hi guys, Blackberry seem interested for me, i have never have blackberry mobile before, I thin... more@william
ill choose BOLD, tho its wider than javelin, but it has great lcd colour, 3G, softer keypad, etc.. the complete one :)
but if u prefer comfortable on hand, choose javelin with smaller size, smaller lcd, less sharp lcd colour.
yes, u can use internet access on 2G network. make sure u have fast internet provider for 2G (GPRS, EDGE).

Hi guys, Blackberry seem interested for me, i have never have blackberry mobile before, I think next week i'll have one, but could you guys advice me which one should i go for, Bold OR Javelin 8900? Anonymous, 01 Jan 2009my bold finds and connects to my home wifi no problem. however i dont beleive its actually u... moreI also tried to use WiFi-only at home without constant sucess, even 1-4 feet away from my WiFi access point and while all my other WiFi devices work well. When I unchecked the carrier option and only checked the WiFi option, it does sense and find my home WiFi. But; it keeps going online and offline by itself every 1-2 minutes non stop. Again, all my other Wifi devices (laptops, Sony Mylo) never loose the WiFi signal, only the Bold keeps droping it. I use a new Netgear RangeMax wireless router. My Bold so far refuses to lock on the Wifi signal except for 1-2 minutes at a time. I can't say I fully trust the stand alone WiFi capabilities of this phone until I find a way to stay on Wifi only for a while..

zmiuga, 29 Dec 2008Hello! Please, if anyone could help me, I've had few problems with my BB Bold. First problem... moremy bold finds and connects to my home wifi no problem. however i dont beleive its actually using the connection at all. at first i thought it was when i was surfing the web. then i discovered i was still able to web surf with it off. is it simply using the att cell signal? it must be because when i uncheck att mobile service in manage connections i cant surf anymore. i dont have the data plan. will i now be charged for data on my bill? i bought the phone so i could use wifi at home without paying for the data plan. is this even possible or am i returning the phone? if so big false advertising....

I have this phone with AT&T in the US. This phone can use $99 (US) 16gb micro SD just fine (Specs in this web site does not say that). The media player gets a bit confused at times and it may fail to show all video or pictures or music. If you use the on-board BlackBerry "Explorer" from the Media Player options you will be able to find/see/play all entries. AVI videos show better and more reliable than VMV videos.

Mike, 28 Dec 2008what do you think about HTC HD ? i'm thinking of bold but i'm still comparing it to HTC HD ?I am in the same boat but i have a htc tytn 11 great phone camera ok office great.Depends what you want and i would go for the bold, it has a flash camera gret screen and is faster to use. and office you can upgerade to the dataviz premium and full office. The bold also looks more proffesional. The htc is a great phone but i would try the bold
