To those who write comments without thinking or giving good reasons why they hate the phone, haven't tried it out,and just hate blackberries.PLEASE DONT WRITE anything, there are people who want REAL hands on review, not your hatred!
tze, 10 Dec 2008Has anyone here compare between Bold 9000 and Nokia E71?
1/ Design
2/ Features
3/ Qwerty Ke... moreI actually own both. To be fair, I just bought the Bold because I had a hard time with the E71. Also, I do not hate the E71, it is a sleeker phone and does okay. The downfall to the E71 is due to its sleek form factor. I should have known better that to buy a brand new device, having never tried it in person first. It just looked sooo sweet onlnine and I needed another phone ASAP. I can hardly dial on the phone, let alone email and text. Keep in mind that I am more of a business user and I have a hard time hearing, so the BB is more suitable for my needs. As for features: I can't comment because both are loaded devices, although the BB does seem to handle multitasking much better and does not lag the way the E71 does. The unlocked E71 was one of the best phones for the $ when it came out and is still a good buy. The Bold is a great phone but an unlocker will run you $$$. The loud speakers, big screen and real trackball were what sold me on the Bold. I like to be able to read the webpages at night without my glasses. I can't really do that on the E71 without waiting for zoomed content. This and the keyboard make up for the Bold's large form factor, IMO. BB lets you truly push email. E71, not so much. I have to connect and download each email after numerous attempts and setting changes on the E71. I would say the Bold is more phone orientated as well (i.e. it is a phone and messaging tool first). E71 speaker is much softer. That's not always a big deal because I'm usually on the Bluetooth headphones anyway (although not using BT with the soft speaker is a problem for me). The Bold reception is much better in the countryside where I reside. The metal body of the E71 feels higher quality to me. Both have great syncronizing software. E71 and Bold seem to be about equally intuitive. I had to get the feel of how apps and setting lay out on both and then I could start to assume where to look for others. The E71 seems like it takes many more keystrokes/button pushes to get around when trying to call and not lose what you're doing in an app. I cannot comment on 3G as I am a T-Mo customer. Battery life (OEM)is about equal. Although both are qwerty smartphones marketed to business and consumers alike:
-E71 is more of a sexy consumer device.
-Bold is more of Business orientated device.
Anyway, hope this helped.

3/ Qwerty Ke... morewhy are you compare Blackberry with Nokia ?
Blackberry is Blackberry ,,!
eventhough you are talking about E71.... i will say Blackberry users will choose BOLD..!
they can not be compare because they both got different OS and second Blackberry users are mostly use BIS and BES (blackberry email service). also i know E71 also support BIS but you dont compare with Blackberry device with Non- Blackberry device for using BIS and BES.
just me, 10 Dec 2008dear "BlackBerry Bold 9000"...
Since you've used the 8310 and now the 9000, how much better... morehi.
well. if you thinking about price. YES it is very expensive. compare with 8310..
9000 and 8310 .. there is not much different.
however, it is different formet from Blackberry.
as 9000 is "BOLD" and 8310 is "CURVE"
so if you want you can wait New CURVE model coming soon 8900 Curve
BOLD is simply just Quality phone and it is little bit more comfortable to use then 8310 and its got WiFi and 3G other then they are nearly the same
even i have paid a lot for upgrading from 8310 to 9000 i dont regrate. as i am happy with this device now.

blackberry bold 9000, 04 Dec 2008why you cant open PDF file ? very strange.
from Pearl 8110 to Curve 8310 and Bold 9000 now.... moredear "BlackBerry Bold 9000"...
Since you've used the 8310 and now the 9000, how much better is the 9000 compared to the 8310 user-wise (does it live up to the hipe and the price) and is it still worth it to buy the 8310 now?? Cos I simply can't afford the 9000, it's so damn expensive.
Thx in advance.

I really like this Blackberry bold 9000, although i have been a NOKIA user for my life time, and refuse to change to other brands, although i have tried .... sometime..... but other brands failed to convince me with their set, its either the body is not nice or is not user friendly! I have use this set for a whole week and my comment on it is:
SUPERB
The phone is really nice, i am a nokia N82 user before this so messaging wont be a problem. now with a qwerty, i dont have problem messaging my friends but i still have to look at the keyboard before i can sleep and at the same time message my friends!
The only problems i have are:
1. When i compose a sms, when i tried to input the contact details, it lagg
2. The battery life is so limited, mayb bcos i keep on playing around with the phone
3. i dont know how to send mms using this phone
4. We dont have a blackberry service in my country so the usage is rather limited anywho.... i have so many great points about this phone:
1. the speaker/sound is nice
2. the body is beautiful
3. user friendly, highly recommended to NOKIA user
4. nice standard ringtone
5. very light
6. scratch free
7. nice camera, not so bad for 2.0MP
8. I LOVE the qwerty keyboard
9. not so big, nice shape
10. sharp screen
11. more .............

Booyo, 07 Dec 2008Hi! I have BBB9k and it seems that I'll have to buy viwers for excel, word, pdf, ppt... Which... moreI'm guessing the full version of docs to go would be best. It costs around 69.95 or somewhere there though, that's the only issue, but people that use it seem to love it.
