I've had my bold for a couple of days now, it's my first Blackberry and I am very impressed.
It is fast, very responsive and looks the nuts.
Once you get used to it, the way it laid out and all of its set up options you will have in your hand a very powerful high end smart phone. The screen is far better than the iphone, and imo, better than the HTC diamonds, very colour full, very bright and crisp even in full sunlight.
Once you have had the gps to log on (a couple of minutes outside is all it takes) you will get it to log and and pin point your location within 3metres inside the building you are in. Google maps works a treat and so does Vodafone SatNav.
As a multimedia devise it handles itself very well too, great video payback, very good music organiser and quality and good picture organiser. You can store what ever you want onto the memory card and save the phones memory for programs and apps.
Push mail works excellently, as you'd expect with a RIM handset, it faster than my pc at retrieving, it comes to my handset faster than it does to my inbox.
Battery life is good too, I run mine flat after the first initial charge in about20 hours, and that was with constant use of gps, video playback, playing music, web browsing, sending emails and whatever else I could do! It now lasts a couple of days before a charge.
I took it my handset into my local Vodafone shop to get some help with setting up push mail (it is my first bb!) and it turned heads! Most of the shop floor assistants hadn't ever seen one and they wanted to play!!
If you considering getting yourself this handset than all I can say is I heartily recommend it and give it 9/10. I'd give it a 10/10 but nothing is perfect!!

Jeff, 19 Sep 2008There is a folder that says "download". inside you will find link to download yahoo messenger,... moreyes there a folder name "dwnload" but inside it is empthy!!!! crap!! wht must i do to load in msn/yahoo messenger!!

not true last comment, the blackberry can be used for email and web acess if you do not have the blackberry add on, just the push email facility will not work unless you have the optional blackberry add on

This phone can only be used to recieve and sent email or surf the web only if u subscribe to blackberry plan.. so if no black berry plan.. this phone cannot function..

uday mehra, 18 Sep 2008how is the perfromance of this phone is?The performance is fast. Screen resolution is the same as apple iphone. Battery needs to be charged at least 3 days to reach its optimum life.

Hello, for all of you that want to know something more of this cellphone before buying it, I can tell you that being my first BlackBerry it took a day or so for getting used to. I come from having a E61i and now have a Touch Cruise and my Bold. It's quick as lightning processor makes it very easy to search around, getting used to the trackball isn't at all hard although I would've appreciated a much more friendlier User's Manual (getting some options set can be quite annoying sometimes- again, used to Symbian and Windows Mobile) but the LOOKS of it can silence the whole room when it displays full brightness...company gives the Curve to employees but I went for the Bold...everybody want to change it. Nice video playback, as audio file listening. GPS hasn't worked at all but I guess I have to be TOTALLY out (my HTC GPS works in my car at least!!) QWERTY is perfect to have back again and it us comfortable, as are the big answer, menu, go back, and hang up buttons. All around, the display and quickness have made me very fond of this device in a very short period of time. Must have.
