I have one of these devices and have had it for a week, testing and demonstrating to the customers for the Number 1 australian network TELSTRA the fastest Mobile network in australai at 7.2Mbps and very soon to be 20Mbps+, Convergence is here with this device, it runs like a dream, the wifi connects without any effort, the connection to the mobile HSDPA network is like ligtning, the keyboard is a plaesure to use. the screen quality is phenomenal. There is alittle stumble with the optimise media streaming which i have been promised will be sorted by the end of September.
There is no other business device to compete with this.
I know someone that is high up in the Telstra food chain in their mobile division and he said optus are releasing the bold on the 20th August and Telstra on the 28th of August ( in Australia),also i saw a condfidential email and it had lots of pda/smartphones on it and when they will be released. I saw the S/E Xperia is being released in oct/nov.
bold released on rogers either this friday the 15th or next week wanna get me one of those
How good is the 624Mz processor!
Its in Australia next week, Optus has it first for $89/month which gets you unlimited data plus $300 worth of calls & text, on a 24 month contract.
Will be my first Crackberry........woohoo!
I am getting it today, I live in Holland. For the dutch checkout the website of KPN.com
U can find it there.
Finally the Bold is here! It will have to be Optus then.
BTW, anybody who pays more for something, if they dont have to, cause money is not an issue is a goose - Trump101.

As for pricing, there's no comparison, Telstra really take their customers for a ride.

Finally someone agrees that Telstra 'smashes' Optus in coverage even though on paper the latter is only 1% less in coverage area. The strength of penetration in Telstra is unmathced!
So you Optus-fanboys/fangirls just shut up! Telstra IS better than Optus in coverage and reception. Pricing is totally a different category and matter, which does not concern me!
just a note on optus vs telstra 3G network. i have used both and i have been all over nsw. i have tested both networks and telstra smashes optus. as far hspa goes with optus the serves kept on droping and ping ponging between hspda (u900), and wcdma (u2100) although the aim is to cover 99% with optus, the coverage will still be very broken(going from sydney to the newcastle it will constantly drop to gprs). were as with tesltra the coverage was unmatched. however i agree with the previous comment. telstra and pricing is wrong. tesltra is purley geared for profits. one short course i did with telstra was labled with dollar signs. and it was all on getting people on plans get the phone cheap and make the most profit of people. i hope they change that but unlikley. optus price is much better. so coverage is tesltra hands down. pricing telstra fall very short. so your paying for quality of service.
How good is it that this Blackberry finally supports the rich formatting of HTML - no more plain unadorned text!
ayava, 11 Aug 2008I've seen the 13th of August post -- but where does this info come from?Yes, next week with Optus here in Australia.
Oops, I meant $80/month with $70 worth of calls and 10MB of data......
Optus in Australia are selling this from next week on an $89/month plan which includes $300 worth of calls and unlimited data. Bet Telstra will be struggling to match that!
Love how the Bold will support the rich formatting of HTML - no more plain unadorned text!!!!!!
By the way, Telstra are offering the HTC Touch Diamond $80/month plan which includes $700 worth of calls and 10MB of data. Are they kidding?
Bold it is! Bye, bye Telstra.
