Skully, 18 Jul 2010I got the Bold 9700 in February of this year because I have always used my phones as tethered ... moreHonestly! I think u must be talking about the new iphone 4 and not the b9700 cause all u just tabled are nonsense and lies,,, everyone knows BB built quality so stop,, the bb only known problems is the terrible web browser,,,, so please stop your lousy stories.
I got the Bold 9700 in February of this year because I have always used my phones as tethered modems since my Motorola V330 in 2005. T-Mobile told me that they were no longer going to be supporting using any phones other than Blackberries as modems, so I bought the 9700. I started using it as a modem, and it comes with the USB cable, and software with which to use the phone as a modem, but it is not a fast as my old non-smart, non-3G phones because the 3G doesn't always work when tethered. THEN T-Mobile after having sold me the Bold 9700 under the understanding that I have ALWAYS tethered my phones, told me they no longer support using ANY phones INCLUDING Blackberries. I was not happy. I have had problems with reliability with the 9700. It has awesome features, but has been extremely buggy, and had issues with the screen going white, and random reboots. I am on handset number five, and would have gone with a different phone, except that the one they offered me didn't have some of the features that my Bold has. I love the phone's applications, but the phone has been a burr under my saddle since I got it due to the tethering issues, and the seeming lack of quality in the device itself. Number four, the vibrate function didn't work right out of the box. The first one, the screen scrambled falling from my pocket to the floor. I hope they get the quality worked out because otherwise it is a great phone.

I have shortlisted this phone on the basis of some specific features (1) Phone Book capacity [i have 10,000 contact phone book capacity and increasing], (2) With incoming calls I should be able to see the caller name, "his company name".
