Both MTN and Vodacom offer BB services (BIS and BES) in South Afica - you will need to pay extra for the BB data plan.

HiGuys, I joined the proud owners of BB Bold 9700 two weeks ago and I would honestly state that this is the best handheld that I ever have had (I still have my Nokia E72 and this my first BlackBerry).
This is a complete business phone with class of distinction. A decent battery life(2 days on a moderate use), a bunch of business and utility apps, an excellent mobile email solution, wonderful browsing experience and everything.
The only disadvantage is that everything works only with a BIS account and a data plan.
But it is the best phone in overall ratings.
hey. if i buy a blackberry overseas and want to use it back in south africa , will the networks in south africa with my sim card work or can i only use the phone in the country it was bought from? please reply, thanks
Hi, I just got this handset and cannot seem to set the GPS. Can anyone assist
Can anyone tell me which 9700 model from UK will work in Canada 3G? I think T-mobile handsets doesnt work.
I'm not new to blackberries but it would be amazing if you guys could help me out
I have a blackberry bold 9700 and a curve 8520 , only recently ( the past couple of weeks ) both bb's are playing tricks on me
I charged my blackberry bold 9700 to 95% just before I went to bed , and the next day when I turn my phone on , the battery was flat , and the same happened to my curve 8520 , not often but just a few times
And also when the battery dies out ,when I turn my bold 9700 back on , while charging , it will show 'there's a fault on your memory ' I went to opition , memory and click repair , however this matter is resolvable under my own hands , but how can I get rid of this annoying issue ?!?
Battery life on my bold 9700 lasted me at least 10 hours per day ( that's including calling , bbming , internet , listening to music and playing games ) which is pretty impressive , but now , 6 hours would be extremely lucky for me
Completely random but how come there's 2 massive spots below my Curve's LCD screen ?!? I never dropped any of phones what so ever and they are both in mint conidition , is there something to do with blackberries reliability ?!?
If you guys have any similar experience , please help me out or share your opitions with me
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010I have been using the 9700 for four months now, the bbm keeps saying waiting for authorization... moreIt means that the other BB's have not yet accepted your invitation in BBM. You decide whether to wait or not.
I have been using the 9700 for four months now, the bbm keeps saying waiting for authorization on all the PINs i have added, what could be the problem & what is the way out?

Hi all, I like BB9700 a lot and considering getting one. The only drawback is that it has no secondary camera for video call. I just dont understand why RIM can produce such a beauty gadget but forgot that part. Even Nokia E72 which is a lot cheaper has that feature.
man, i have been through so many crappy phones, but having the bb 9700 was 230 bucks i have ever spent. i kiss it everyday i have no complaints. wish life was this perfect.
hi i have my bklackberry bold for some months now, and i would have to admit its the best phone i have owned. keep the good work up.
Having owned over the past 20 months a Nokia 5800, an HTC Hero, iPhone 3G...the BB9700 is undoubtedly the best phone I have owned in a long time. Push email works amazingly well, screen is beautiful AND legible in sunlight(!), plenty of "Sensible" apps out there (not like the 1001 f*rt applications on other well known app stores...if Ronseal made 'phones - they'd make a BB!!
Hi..just got my bold9700 n it was very2 good, then now i m currently moving oversea with my new phone(of course)just a question about the BBM is still FOC even i m outside of the country or still chargeable according to the data service?? without the data service can i still use my BBM? hope any expert can help me to sort it out my curiousity ..thanks..
