Max, 20 Mar 2010I've been using bold 9000 for an year and then I bought the 9700. I made a good choice, I don'... morei am not too sure. I too made the switch from 9000 to 9700 , but honestly i miss the broad key pad size and wide screen size of 9000. Its much easier to type on 9000 than 9700 so cant say as of now was it a wise move or not....!!

Although, some carriers lock the GPS function to make you pay an extra fee for it.
The sms-ing is getting to my nerves. i luv this phone, but sending and receiving texts is making me miserable. i'm still finding it tough to connect with my home wireless and even with my service provider. I don't want to believe yet that i've burnt my money. pls help esp with the sms thing
In order for the GPS on both BB9700 & 8530 to function does it require to be in a Data plan with the telecom provider or it includes a chip that communicates directly with the satellite?
There is this complaint in bold 2.The first person you sent message to will continiously receiving all other messages sent out to other receipients. What could be responsible for this? I have experience this from about 6 customers. A particular customer was desperate he stopped at the 3rd trial. But then it does'nt, occur to all, nor have I experience it in other Blackberry models. Do you have a representative in Nigeria who can assist to correct this. Thanks for your prompt reply and assistance.
lucky, 25 Mar 2010thanks yaar thanks for the update i am not able to cope up with this sms thing i sold out ... moreNo prob, Lucky. I was saving up for a Bold 2 but actually prefer the original Bold's looks and size. Since you said you sold your 9700 and bought the 9000 "once again", I would believe that you've used it before and, may I assume, you've used itfor a while? If so, could you give your opinion on memory management on the 9000? That's the one thing that keeps me away from it. I have a Gemini and have like 123,4 mb of free memory and it goes down to like 113 mb in 2 or 3 days of heavy Facebook, Messenger, internet and emailing. I do a few calls a day but I'm on the internet a lot, so do you think I'd be ok with half that memory? From what I've read the 9000 only has like 60 mb free. Have you ever had any problems?

This has the "threaded" SMS function, a feature that is default and not user switchable. People had been complaining about RIM's old texting style and now have included the chat-like style of threaded sms. Can't change it, sorry. Maybe later you will be able to?

If I get 5 messages from one person I can see all the sms in one window
