Ok. BB is good if u don't travel outside your country, because BB is all based on it's data plan.
so if u r outside your country u will be looking at Roaming. imagine. if u wanna connect to MSN messenger u have to go via the data plan. however, in any other devices u have the choice of WIFI or data plan. Don't get me wrong. BB is good but it's better if u have BES.
I think BB's are great but I've had three now in the past three years (two in four weeks) and they've all gone faulty. I've had two 9700's and am giving in and probably going iphone. The first saw the keyboard explode and fall apart (within 24 hours of getting it) and the second has seen me get frustrated for three weeks with its random shut-downs. The worrying thing is is that I rang Vodafone today to discuss and they offered me a different model without me asking for one. i think there are too many problems with this phone right now and the reliability is through the floor. Get this phone at your peril.
Don't think twice but get the 9700 cos its great. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm really happy with it.
I am looking to upgrade my handset at the moment as my contract is nearing the end. I was just wondering, whether I should purchase the BB Bold 9700 or the BB 8520. I could either get the BB 8520 for £20 a month for 18 months or for slightly more the BB Bold 9700 for £25 a month but for a slightly longer period of time, 24 months.
I was also wondering, if you do not have an added internet plan, can you still access the internet and the blackberry app store via a wifi connection?
Any help, I will be greatfull.
Had this phone for a few days now, having switched from the iPhone 3G and I have to say that this phone is far superior to the iPhone.
It's the best phone i've had to date and my first BB.
Thanks RIM, keep up the good work.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970To give you a straight answer.........the BlackBerry
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970To answer your question, they both very good phones. The biggest advantage with the BlackBerry device is you pay for BIS or BES subscription and you can recieve unlimited emails, have unlimited on device internet and BlackBerry users can message one another via messenger for free. If you planning on using a BlackBerry device as a modem, you will be charged for the data you use, as BIS/BES only covers on device internet. The E71 has much faster internet access, but you pay for it. It is advisable to look at a data package of somesorts to add to your voice package, especially if you planning on using the E71 as a modem, or recieving lots of emails with attachments.
