I am facing a very serious problem, whenever i try to download applications from blackberry appworld, it says this service is not available in your country... i am from PAKISTAN.. i mean isn't there any other way to get the applications for my bold 9780??? please help me out...!
i bought BB9780 , n i am having hard time downloading BBmaps or google maps. both r not working on my BB. BBmap was not preinstalled so i have to installed it from site but i still cant find map icon on home screen . when downlaod is complete it always say BBmaps installer download completed but still no icon on home screen. Can anyone help me with it??
Everything is fine except slow 624MHz processor and tiny 512MB memory. Web browsing will slow down this Bold 9780 a lot compared to iPhone4, that makes me frustrated. I would prefer the newest Bold 9930 which has 1.2GHz processing power.
I would really like to buy a BB but only if they provide the following additions to this model:
-> Dual SIM, Dual Active functionality. These days it has become very much essential to have 2 sim cards of 2 different carriers, just in case there is some problem with 1 the other will help us stay in touch.
Samsung has really pioneered in this direction with a SIM-switching key.
-> A good Auto-focus 8 mpx main camera with at least dual LED flash with Full-HD recording 1080p @ 60 fps, and a 2mpx Secondary front camera. This is no more a luxury now.
-> A good Radio with RDS doesn't cost much. If you can add an FM transmitter - even better.
-> At least 32 Gb on-board memory is required along with Hot-swappable micro-SD card support.
-> At least a 1.5 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon with a good GPU - it's already available.
-> To keep all these going we need a good 1800 mAh or more (2800 mAh) Lithium Polymer battery - we need that juice, without which all this will be useless.
-> Please cover all the open ports like Micro USB, 3.5 mm jack, etc with protective rubber covers.
Please seriously think of these, all these have now become very much essential and most required. People are ready to pay for it, provided you deliver the goods. Listen to what we want.
Salman, 24 May 2011I am unable to view .pdf files on my bold 9780... somebody please help!!!You can download the PDF application thru App World. Just search on the menu "PDF". It's your choice, whether the trial version for free or a Full version that cost you a few backs. Then install it to your unit
can u transfer wholesale ur contacts on another phone not BB to bold 9780 using bluetooth
Marius, 24 May 2011There is the send option, but no "receive using bluetooth" option in the media secti... moreMarius, I think possibly that the OS6 does no have this function, unlike models that have OS5 (e.g 9780 has OS6, 8900, 8520, etc., probably has OS5). Look under User Guide of 9780 on GSMArena - does not appear to have the function you are looking for (refer receiving media file via bluetooth). Otherwise contact Blackberry Support at the Network Provider. If it's Vodacom, they have Walk-In Centres around SA. If you're in Cape Town area, there's one at Canal Walk. Please keep us posted on the outcome? Thanks.
