theblackberry , 10 Dec 2012hi i had a 9300 for a while but the camera broke so now i want to get the 9790 but i have read... morethe 9790 battery was ok until the 7.1 upgrade . new upgrade uses up battery much faster even with the battery save option activated . no option to just use 2G either.
I love this device.its slim.its battery life is brilliant.its one of the best in bb world.i dare you, just go for it
just scared on wht to do, interested in buying blackberry bold 9790 but comment on short batttery life and system hanging, just need a help
I used bold 9780 until it developed battery problems. Sometimes, from 70% battery level, the phone will just go off when you do such thing as using the camera.
The RIM 9790 is really a smartphone to use. Long battery life, I dare say.
i was using 9300 Blackbery for 1 year 5 Months then the bettery sucks then i upgraded to 9790 what an impressive phone i have m battery can last for a day without being charged and am always using FB,BBM & WHATSAPP so i cant complain anymore.
Benson, 09 Nov 2012The BB APP world has mobile VoIP. You can now configure your actionvoip or stunt calls etc etc... morehi i had a 9300 for a while but the camera broke so now i want to get the 9790 but i have read the reviews most people says the battery sucks is that really true. Can someone tell me the whole story cause some people say its great and some nog
I have had the 9790 since August and at first, it was a bit of a handful; it would often get really hot and freeze as a result. However, I did a system update and updated all of my apps and it seemed to have worked a treat. The 7.1 operating system has a system monitor which closes any apps which aren't being used and it has completely eradicated the overheating issue.
Other than that, the camera is awesome, the 3G is brilliant and the phone is uber-fast.
I have had BlackBerrys in the past and I can easily say that this phone is the best one out there as it is not too much and the functions are all excellent.
One complaint I do have, is that there is only one 'convenience key', personal preference would want one more.
Nonetheless, great job!

Blackberry appworld has been an issue since November last year and rim has done nothing to resolve it. Our call centre's are inundated with calls relating to blackberry's, poor battery, slow internet connections etc. My sony ericson w900i connects faster than my 9900 bold :)
I honestly don't understand the negative comments. Sometime I think there's some people who just like to live that way. I'm an experienced bb user (had 8900,9000, 9700, 9630, 9790,9900 and now have a 9790 again) but I also have a iPhone 4S (which i'v also had the 3gs, the 4 and now the 4s) and use them both (one pro and the other for private use). There's no comparison. My "all the time" phone is the bb, because its an dependable device, has much better battery life, does everything and its a a real phone. Never, ever, ever has any issue with any of my bb's except the batt in the 9630 and the memory leak on he 9700 on os 6. The 9790 is top notch! A small factor full qwerty with a touch screen! What else do you want? If you want to play games all the time by a i5 . If you want a dependable all around phone buy a 9790! Trust me. I work for a living!
Before the bold 9790 I had the blackberry curve 9300 for two years & had no problems, with this one it's been a nightmare I can put up with battery but the phone it's self keeps cutting out mid call I've taken it back after 4 weeks were it was sent off for repair and eventually replaced with a new phone same model one week later and it's still doing this has any one else had this problem or is it just me ?
Deactivate the WiFi option and the 3G option and you will be surprised about the baterry life. Much better!!!
this is a very bad phone. first i was very happy that i was buying it but later i felt like throwing it. whats the point of touch screen the screen is so small. the battery life is poor and the speakers are horrible . also it hangs every 2 minutes. multitasking is bad. trust me dont buy blackberry just for bbm buy iphone or noki lumia 800 which is an amazing phone or android but first lumia 800 nokia is making a comeback
dre, 14 Nov 2012please help me, the phone battery has been getting hot always, what could have caused itPoor battery life, had to take mine back to shop for this reason. Took it off charge at 7am and it would barely be used but by 11 it was red hot and the battery drained. Luckily I'd only had it 3 weeks and they gave me a replacement, so far so good with this one. Still not as good on battery as the old curve. Seems as though as handsets upgrade the poorer the battery life.
Recently bought this phone. Overall all a very good phone. The only area of improvement so far noticed is the "Battery Life".
