what cost bb 9790 here in south africa? I am looked for good bb. Thanx
Blackberry does not have activesync available which allowed you to sync your old emails toyuor device. This is a setback from blackberry being classify as a business phone. They promise to work arounf with microsoft to implement thus as soon as possible. Being known that many of peoples need this service desperately.
Hi Mike, you are right, there is no possibility to run Microsoft Exchange in blackberry os. only bes day to day email from the day you start using your phone.
Blackberry is no more classify as a business phone after the existence of famous os platform like android and IOS with the capabilities to perform far better performance than blackberry.
The blackberry os was first develop to suit a businessman in terms of communicating messaging, and during that time none of the phone in the market have this capabilities, I dont think smart phone exist that time.
After the launched of famous platform os, the blackberry has closed down and has acquired by another new firm which are now pursuing to multimedia rather than a business phone.
Go for other platform running os if you need a better functionality in multimedia and messaging. In my country, only consumers who have low budget in buying a phone or with the need of a lower internet data plan will go for blackberry, is about USD8.00 to have an unlimited access to BIS and BES services per month whereby I pay about USD35.00 per month to enjoy a full unlimited data plan per month on my Iphone.
I hope I have answered your questions in full.

Is it possible to use the bold 9700's battery in the bold 9790??? because if you can this bold 9790 would be great.
Sad blackberry os. I though blackberry os is good for business but its actually not. Famous on email? Not at all!
I have more than 5000 emails in my hotmail, and there is not option for me to set up a microsoft exchange hotmail account with this 9790. I need 5000 of this emails to be sync everyday with a push mail functionality like my s2 and iphone 4.
Blackberry famous in push mail? What a joke, my iphone and android phone can push my mail easily with a microsoft exchange account, you can set any email like yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc with microsoft exchange.
Dont ask why i need all of my mails to be in my phone, my emails is my data base, i store all my conversation and quotation in my email server and i can search it even in offline mode.
I am very surprise that none of the peoples who using blackberry have this problem. I even went to blackberry service center to ask this and they dont even have a solution for me.
Blackberry, push mail? Android and ios can do this easily. BBM? Whatsapp can do this perfectly. What else does blackberry offer? Nothing at all for me.
Blackberry is famous because its launch and telling consumer is a business phone at first, consumer thinking of a business phone is great but i want you all to know that you are wrong. Blackberry os is no way in comparing to android and ios not even the old symbian.
Dont try to be a follower that seeing other using blackberry and you want it too, you will just make your life difficult.
Try do a research in the web MICROSOFT EXCHANGE FOR HOTMAIL IN BLACKBERRY, you will get none of it.
Surprise that no one mention this to the community, means that you only need your daily current mail, how about you old emails for example year 2005 emails which are very important?
SHAME ON YOU BLACKBERRY. One more thing, blackberry needs additional charges in BIS AND BES to enjoy full functionality, not including a data usage. You have to pay extra to get what? BBM AND PUSH MAIL? Lol, i need a cheap data plan to get all of this done perfectly.
Good luck guys, think before you switch.
very best qwerty phone. i love it. good design and performance ... i rated it 10 out of 10 ..
kn, 08 Mar 2012nice will come back with dtlsI jst wanna know if you can use the bold 9780's battery in the bold 9790?
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9790 bought in December 2011 and when i power it on it says ORIGINAL BLACKBERRY SMART PHONE and the phone and battery are all made in Canada. Is that the same with all BB9790? ITS A GREAT PHONE
I got my BB bold 9790 a couple of days back and Ihad a problem with it's battery the very fiest day as after my 1st charge the rear part of the cell started becoming hot. Battery got drained out almost in 2 hours without me even using the cell. I took it back to the retailer who explained that there could be a problem with the battery that was provided. I was gives a new battery and was asked to get back if the problem persist and Wow!!!!! There we are the BB has not given any problem since then. Battery charges pretty soon compared to Samsung and could last you a day with minimal usage and approx 15hrs with some descent use of the phone. Guess should not be much of a problem if you are on the move but carry your charger along. All in all a very good, sleek and light phone with a powerful processor, fits perfectly into your palms. I would rate a 7 on 10.
BOLD ! , 04 Mar 2012Hey guys I'm really confused between the bold 9790 and the bold 9900. I'm using bold 9780 @ th... moreFirstly, NO, your 9780 battery cant be used on a 9790...so out goes that logic!
Have been using the 9790 for a month now, initially the battery used to last just 5-6 hrs, but lately it has increased dramatically to 15 hrs (very heavy usage on 2g)...the 9900 has its share of quirks, go for the 9790, so far it has been great, just wished that the battery would last longer...but thats it
i have had it for one month so far and it is a Very good phone... no battery life problems.... works great very smooth, fits good in hand.. very light in comparison to previous bold phones. I am glad i bout this over the bold 9900.
