It will be my first Blackberry after 16 years of Nokia... moreWhy on earth do you want this BB if ypu mainly ust doing voice calls?
You can´t be serious if you leaving nokia for this if you want good battery time and the voice and reception signal quality.
You must be insane actually. Some people should really be questioned if they are insane.
The batterytime will kill you. Just a way to wash your maonet away the drain.
what i wanted too no is on the back of the phone is like carbon viber but i think that is is a solar panel charger if you look at the inside of the pice you will see 2 conecting points soo what i wanted too ask is is that a soler panel ornot

It will be my first Blackberry after 16 years of Nokias.
I am used to a battery life of 2-3 days. I mainly use a phone for calls.
I see a lot of negative comments about the battery life of this BB.
Can someone please give me fair opinion on battery life i.e.if only calls and standby are used and possibly BBM?

One thing i have foundt now ive had the bb for over 2 weeks is ..... it says it has 8gb bulit in. i got the phone thinking it be much better as can download loads off apps. But u cant, u only have a set amount of memory for apps.... only 200mb which is nothing. so bb have limit u. then give u 6.5 gb for media, but i have an 16gb memory card for this so what is the point. STUPID BB, thought they were doing well then they did this. I also got told i cant put the apps on to memory card as they wont work. WHY O WHY DID U DO THIS BB, I DONT GET IT!!!!
I work for Vodafone. next year The new blackberrys in future release will be able to use all of Android apps as BB would be combinding with android compatability. Games etc.
Zolo, 08 Sep 2011on paper this phone should be far ahead compared to the bold 9780.. stick with a 9780 and skip... moretotally agree with what Zolo said.
all this years new blackberries have been pointless upgrades of their previous generations!
why has the bold gone back to the crappy fat old design? the 9780 bold looked soo much nicer..
blackberyy are slipping behind iphone and android devices unless they step their game up!
on paper this phone should be far ahead compared to the bold 9780.. stick with a 9780 and skip this pointless generation of blackberry!
it has soo much to go wrong with it!!!
May next year, blackberry will make an even better phone, something worth changing your 9780 for.
I've now had the BB 9900 for a few days and can give my honest opinion. It's a great handset with the extra half touch screen. The apps etc aren't brilliant compared to the iphone which people do compare with! The 9900 is a different kettle of fish completely! (more business orientated). I've both iphone 4 and 9900 and both are good in their own right. I noticed many people have been complaining about the battery on 9900 but in my personal view it really isn't that bad...or at least not as bad as people say it is! The phone is slimmer making the battery 1230 mAh compared to my previous Bold 9700 at 1500 mAh or there abouts and also being 1.2 ghz it's bound to drain twice as fast! I would say though the battery would last around 2 days but then again it really is down to how much you use this! Overall I would recommend this handset and only would upgrade if an upgrade is due otherwise I wouldn't rush to get one as the price is fairly high!
I used this Bb for 10 days;:;:;:;:;: but refuse due to low battery backup :(:(:(:(:(
And no auto focus :(:( dump this phone .
momochick, 06 Sep 2011no auto-focus? really? hmm :(You dont miss the auto-focus feature that often. The camera works just perfect. The speed of capturing images has increased a lot due to absense of any delay due to auto-focus function. It's a camera enabled cellphone;but if you want a sim-enabled camera, this may not be the right choice for you.

I have no issues of touch keys getting activated while talking. In fact, the moment you take this phone (while on call) closer to your ears (for that matter any object in front of sensor) the touch keys buttons get deactivated. It has a wonderful wide touch screen for other useful features and applications. I have never used a Nokia phone in my life, so cant comment how E-6 or its symbian software would be.
Ayesha, 06 Sep 2011Hi Am planning to Buy the bold (9900), but I hate the fact of the touch screen, as my sister ... morethe set is good looking, but the battery is an issue. if you don't have repetitive charging issues..you can afford it...but touch is not that good as compared to E-6....
