The Bold 9900 has an EDOF camera. It is not an autofocus one. What the hell are RIM playing at. I for one will not be buying this phone.
Lis, 10 Aug 2011Does anyone know when it will be released in Ireland?it was releaded today on Vodafone, you can have it delievered by the 16th of August @Lis
AnonD-5099, 11 Aug 2011people don't go for Blackberrys for the specs. its not your run of the mill phone. It has some... moreNo wonder you using display name 'mad'-max . read your own post , how stupid it is . so whats so great about so called BIS? what bis can do and no other phone? in 2008-2009 things were different RIM had the edge with their awesome push-mail , bbm etc but now the porblem with RIM is they are still stuck in 2008 where as Anroid and IOS has gone way to ahead . BBM is the only thing which RIM can off of and say its unique , but it wont be in the near future with IOS's messenger also with app like whatsapp etc .
You said nothing wrong with the price tag of 31k for this phone? how stupid . Sammy S2 is available for 28k , SE arc for 26k , htc incredible S for 24k , iphone4 for 32k ... compare these phones with BB9900 and there is huge difference between these phones and there is a reason why RIM is losing market share at such a rapid pace . other are offering much better hardware as well as OS at a reasonable asking price but look at most of the bb phones - low screen resolution , average screen quality , no fm , worst browser , average/bad camera performance , hell you need to reboot the OS while upgrading or installing a new app (biggest joke by RIM) , worst maps/navigation , extra monthly rental needs to be paid to get basic things like browser , maps , bbm etc . list can go on and on .
Mind you i am using bold 9780 along with HTC desire S and i can see the difference between the two . wont buy a bb phone ever again .
its about your hard earned money , i being an indian do look into the VFM :-)
Jeshian, 10 Aug 2011When is this phone coming to South Africa ?its launching worldwide by htis weekend
Sandeep, 11 Aug 2011True Pravs. And I had all the plans to buy it within next 15 days but the big question remains... morepeople don't go for Blackberrys for the specs. its not your run of the mill phone. It has something called BIS! its a niche market and we are really not worried about it costing 30k+. its ur choice, there are cheaper Blackberrys available. its not as easy as Choosing a iPhone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy 2 or vice versa.. there are a lot of other considerations to be made while choosing to opt out of a Blackberry.
Blackberry Blod Touch 9900 already in stores in India from August 11.
[deleted post]True Pravs. And I had all the plans to buy it within next 15 days but the big question remains: Is it worth it with this kind of price tag? Why not go for Samsung Galaxy SII at relatively less price or Nokie E6 at a much lesser price?
For one reason or the other, I have never been able to purchase the phone that I really wanted, have always had to make compromises (mostly due to release dates and budget).
Currently using a Curve 8520 ('09) and S/E Xperia X10 Mini Pro ('10). Sick of the S/E's battery.
Was eagerly waiting for this phone and the S/E Xperia Pro (with 1500 mAh, surely it should last 2 days!).
But what are the odds that with the specs the 9900 has, the battery will last 1.5 days (minimum requirements).
And as for the S/E Xperia Pro, apparently that doesnt release till Q4.
In the news paper dated 11th August in the Times of India a big adv. of th Blackberry Bold 9900 has come and they have given the names of the dealer where it will be available. We are going to get by 15th August I suppose . I am waiting for it anxiously What a Independence Day it would be.
