listening to advice to upgrade to 18.104.22.1684 platform 22.214.171.124...well it seemed to me it run more smoothly,but still no solution to the battery draining fast....THE REMEDY I FOUND....buy and carry a spare battery!!!!
it's an excellent device almost 1 of the best bb devices but there is a problem in battery life time and applications
upgrading to OS 7.1 doesnt help any with regards battery life of the 9900...but i found a solution to the battery problem! i bought and now carry a SPARE BATTERY for my BB9900

To the people below, os 7.1 is available and running on my device. You just need to update your phone. Also, yes it does have Wi-Fi hotspot once you update it to 7.1

Set your phone to 2g. and brightness to 10. Then download a battery saving app. That should help your battery to last a bit longer:)
Battery life is a major problem. All OS7 Blackberry phones suffer the same fate. This phone is really good. also it's 9790 Sibling. But again, baterry life is a major set back.
Hi All i have had 9900 since October 2011, it's a real great cell......quick.....and has all the techno i need...but.....the battery life is BAD....i ship in a Li-ion 3.7v 3800mAh battery from UK,....mmmmm i thought i had the answer to the battery lifr problem.....well NO.the battery is double the thickness of the JM1 and is HEAVEY......battery life is not much better..and to cap it off...you first have to "c;one"...the battery with the JM1 before you can use it...mmmmm.....well come RIM....give us a BETTER battery for the 9900 Bold........PLEASE
