You can use BlackBerry built in e-mail client, BBM, BlackBerry World, BlackBerry Protect with a basic internet subscription just like any android, windows phone, etc.
P.S. - Try to use BBM, you will forget WhatsApp!

I wanna get the Classic for work, emails and whatsapp (and before anyone says whatsapp is not important, here in the UAE it is used for work)
Only thing I want to know is can u use a built-in email client (like on iOS or Android) without BIS

BlackBerry does not produce phones for kids to play Angry Birds or to do naked selfies in bathroom, in front of a mirror. BlackBerry terminal are intended to business segment. You will not see any CEO / Executive playing Candy Crush or chatting in Whats App.
In terms of social media, we, BlackBerry owners have and use BBM.
No point in buying blackberry nowonwards, as Whats App will no longer be supported on BB Os from December 2016 . What a waste !

xoxoFaithxoxo, 16 Apr 2016I currently have an iPhone 5s and I really want to switch over to the Blackberry Classic. My o... moreHi Faith,
Actually I find that the Classic on Skype is pleasently a great seamless experience. The front camera on the Classic is good but despite the lower resolution on the 5s, the 5s just seems clearer and brighter, but the Classic does the job. The official Skype app can be added via the Amazon App Store. The huge advantage of the Classic over the iPhone or any touchscreen phone, is being able to use the physical keyboard on Skype. Also I note that file transfers on Blackberry are always easier and have more options than on Android or iOS. One odd thing about Skype on all OS's, is that when you leave Skype, it has a weird habit of restarting when you come back to it when multitasking. Skype on Android and on iOS is smoother for sure, but on Blackberry it runs great too
Will the free apps from Google Play still be free in Amazon AppStore? and will all apps available on Google Play will also be available in Amazon AppStore?
