Basically this is a 8520 curve with os6, gps and 3g. yes, i think they should have used the 8900 curve metalic finish. it gives a more smart, business like look. i hope it won't be expensive in S.A since we paid so much for the entry level 8520
ndra, 23 Aug 2010I thing the 9300 really expensive in indonesia it cost 3825000 and if u have 500000 u can have... more@ndra, the curve 9300 is still sold through private importers in Indonesia, which means price will fluctuates greatly. Even iPhone 4 when first sold by private importers reached Rp. 14 Million. So wait until it's officially launched in Indonesia with a real price tag, personally I'm expecting the Curve 3G to be worth around Rp 2.8 - 3 Million.
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2010I prefer the looks of the BB Curve 8900 better. It looks more...professional...you know what I... morei know exactly what you mean cause the past two 85xx and the 93xx look like kids phones kinda like the 83xx no curve will match the 8900, they should release the curve that was rumored to be this it was identicle to the 9700 but with curve keypad now thats the real upgrade from the 8900

Anonymous, 21 Aug 2010i just bought this phone. i found out its' OS is v5 meanwhile on GSMarena it is mentioned the ... moreGSM Arena have it wrong. It was scheduled to be released with OS5 and READY for BlackBerry 6. You just need to wait for the release date. Or read a blog dedicated to BlackBerry phones, like CrackBerry.com or BBLEAKS. Just check them out. GSM Arena is a universal site, which is why it shows different manufacturers and carriers.
i just bought this phone. i found out its' OS is v5 meanwhile on GSMarena it is mentioned the OS to be v6, how it can be ? i have checked online to RIM, currently there no other version of OS other than installed version in the phone. i learned, this phone is possible to be upgraded up to v6 OS. checked with the cellular operators, they even do not its' OS file yet. anybody, please comment, thanks.
Soon as this phone is avalibale in the UK I will be upgrading to it as I have the 8520 curve and this will be better in terms of the 3G.
This phone cannot compare to BB8900 in any feature, for except 3G. RIM needs to be more innovative with upgrades; or shall we call them Rest in Motion?
[deleted post]I got this phone without contract from Telus Moblity (Canada). They charge CAD$329+tax.
However, I believe you can get this for cad$79.00 with a 3 year contract - which I'd say is not bad at all.
If you are getting this in the US, it would probably go for $275-$300. I'm quite content having paid full price for this phone, cause I know in a years time I'm getting another new one (since I'm currently halfway a 3yr contract). Even so... this phone is great - I will not be thinking about replacing it in the near future.
ive used this hand set this phone is lush
its 3g screen is amazing and is only £300 uk price
its worth it the phone its self looks nice in the silver band around the edge it is a phone worth looking at
this is a great cheap blackberry finally a cheat 3g curve i had a play with 1 of these in the carphone warehouse (UK) i personally use a 9700 bold and to be honest apart from build quality there is not much difference
ric_q0709, 17 Aug 2010I think this is what im looking for. A gemini-like, a cheap BB, but with 3G, and the A-Gps. I ... moreCheap? I hope so, since this phone almost beat bold 9000's spec. So i think this phone price will as same as bold
I got the phone over the weekend, and had the network set up just yesterday. It's an awesome phone, i'd say.
The main reason why I chose this phone is because of it's frequency. My main provider runs CDMA tech along with the hspa 3G. With this phone, having the quad-band GSM frequency will enable and easy transfer (without changing) phones to another (GSM) provider, and if I ever plan to go visit my country (Philippines) I can definitely use this phone.
With regards to functionality, I believe it's similar to the newly released phones of BB. It's very light, even adding skins on it - it's still very light.
I like it.
Can't wait for this phone to come out in the UK! Defiantly going to upgrade from my slow 8520 to this.:)
