I got the phone over the weekend, and had the network set up just yesterday. It's an awesome phone, i'd say.
The main reason why I chose this phone is because of it's frequency. My main provider runs CDMA tech along with the hspa 3G. With this phone, having the quad-band GSM frequency will enable and easy transfer (without changing) phones to another (GSM) provider, and if I ever plan to go visit my country (Philippines) I can definitely use this phone.
With regards to functionality, I believe it's similar to the newly released phones of BB. It's very light, even adding skins on it - it's still very light.
I like it.
Can't wait for this phone to come out in the UK! Defiantly going to upgrade from my slow 8520 to this.:)
Will the model before of this BB, the curve 8520, have an OS update to have the same as this one? the 6.0.
ric_q0709, 17 Aug 2010I think this is what im looking for. A gemini-like, a cheap BB, but with 3G, and the A-Gps. I ... morei hope so, my friend.
i don't care about the specs, all i need is a 3g connection, blackberry messenger and a blackberry OS 6. This phone will only be my 'chatting/texting' phone, while x10 will remain as my primary phone.
I think this is what im looking for. A gemini-like, a cheap BB, but with 3G, and the A-Gps. I really need both feature, but it is too expensive if I have to buy Bold just to find that. Hoping it announced in Indonesia faster.
i dont think this phone is wrth ... BB8900 has a 3.2mp camera wit flash jus that its not 3g nd no trackpad ... but the trackball is amazing of 8900 ... i hav nvr seen such a cool fone wit almost everythng except 3g nd trackpad ...
so we are just uping the 2g to 3g, but keeping the same old 2mp camara and no flash, why not jsut turn the 8900 in to 3g and trackpad and you have pretty much a better looking bold, they need some bett colours to the device not just black white purple, all they are doign is jsut chaning the casing around the front, which makes it look even more like an 8900,
can please tell me whether I can Buy this mobile...If any problem commence with this mobile please tell me...
sweety home, 14 Aug 2010Price BB 9300 3G in Indonesia is Rp 3,500,000.00 or $ 390,00. Still pre-order will be released... moreI wonder about the price in Indonesia. If BB gemini is about 2,3 million, then this one should be only a little more expensive. Because I think the spesifications are not much different...
Mel, 13 Aug 2010is the phone going to be available in the UK, I've looked online and I can only find the USA r... moreThe 9300 has hit Vodafone UK retail stores today. The word is we can't sell them yet as they haven't been added to the systems, hopefully by the end of the day this will have been updated. If not, check your local store early next week for a range of prices or a demo.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2010Well that is what happens when you buy a cheap ( its only a £138 phone) blackberry like ... moreThe Curve 8520 costs 300 USD in Mexico. I've bought phones cheaper than that and they get supported by each manufacturer. The point is, being only 9 months old, my phone has already reached EOL. Your Pearl, which isn't out yet here, will most like be re-released in another few months with 512mb of memory. Of course, right now you won't care, but when the time comes you will. Even if I would have bought the 9700, I'd be unhappy with the release of the 9780 because it's the same phone with more memory. More memory means more apps. I don't care for 3G, I want a phone that isn't killed off for no reason. Now I feel like the Tour owners felt when they released the Tour 2, renamed Bold 9650.
Price BB 9300 3G in Indonesia is Rp 3,500,000.00 or $ 390,00. Still pre-order will be released to market this September

Looks like i made a good choice, you get what you pay for
[deleted post]I didn't say Blackberry were the best in the whole world. That's a personal preference. I hate Motorola's build quality. The Droid, the Dext/Cliq both wobble and sliders shouldn't wobble. The only thing that saved Moto was Android. Even then, HTC makes better Android devices.
