Nice device that makes you a proud owner. Appropriate dimensions and top tech, all of which will stop my strong and persistent wish for changing phones. I wish I already knew all its features to enjoy it as ever. For the present the best in the market.
Hi, i just bought this phone. I want to know if i buy a wireless router, will i be able to surf internet, etc with the phone?
JRF, 18 Oct 2010Try setting it to Alt/Enter and the rest to Yes on Quick Selection and Yes to Notify Me. See i... moreyeah i tried it like that, but it didnt give me the language ID option. i think it might be OS 5 thing only as u said. but really many thanks for u JRF.
one last Q, can i upgrade to OS 5 or its risky, as i just runied my HTC magic while trying to modify some stuff on the software ... !!
Only usefull for e-mail, what else is there? I upgraded to one a few weeks ago from a Nokia E63 and can't see the difference except what I've already mentioned, in fact the Nokia's easier to use by far and so is the Nokia PC Suite, the so called brand new Blackberry cd-rom wouldn't load onto my laptop and the 1st phone kept crashing so it got changed, this cd-rom loaded only then to tell me it needed to update which took hours, plugged in the phone eventually for the laptop not to be able to find it, it went back again. Now 3rd time lucky went throgh it all again and this time the computer said 'yes' then told me that the so-called brand new phone was outdated and needed an urgent update! I give up as this time it erased all my contacts in the process and yes I did do a backup before hand but to no avail as suddenly that was lost also, luckilt I have more than one sim with them on. Saying all that I have to have one, I live in Chelsea and if you don't have one then you are sooooo last year darlings, bloody snobs!!!!!!
i love this phone and have no regrets over purchasing it except that the trackpad seems to have frozen.i've tried removing the battery n putting it back bt to no avail. I need an answer urgently

See if that gives you the Language ID option so you can hide it. If not, then it might be a OS5 thing only. I'll look into it a bit more.

ooka, 16 Oct 2010Hey JRF, thanks very much for ur answer and ur help.
But actually my phone is the curve 8520 ... moreHmm, what OS ser you using? Go to Options>About. It should say v4.6.1.xxx. or 5.0.0.xxx.
On my Storm it shows Language ID under Input Language Selection Shortcut. And it also shows up on my old 8520 with OS 5,0,0,681.
I bought the phone about three weeks ago and so far I have loved every moment spent with it.
Extremely user friendly and very simple and straight forward. In simpler terms, you get what you pay for!
Of course it doesn't have 3G but in most countries that is hardly a problem because the EDGE and GPRS networks are fairly strong and simple things such as downloading emails and simple data is done at a very reasonable speed.
Thousands of applications are available for free as well as at a price, in both the blackberry online store as well as other developer sites.
Camera quality is not exceptional but it does the job and music playback is wonderful.
Biggest advantage is the Blackberry messenger.
Most smart phones today have a problem of crashing and so far none of my friends nor have I faced that problem.
[deleted post]Hey JRF, thanks very much for ur answer and ur help.
But actually my phone is the curve 8520 and it doesn't have that option under options > language
What I have there is:
Voice dialing language:
Input language selection shortcut.
That's it, and everyone contains the languages to choose from nothing else ... !!!
