JRF, 25 Jun 2010When a core app starts to fail, your best option is to reload the OS or update. The media play... morehey thanks as usual... well i removed the battery and restarted the phone , n surprise surprise.. it worked... however, I did update the latest version of the media sync too..
Now coming to the reply u'd given Blackberrain regarding locating n deleting of files via the options and then the applications, etc, I have noticed tat it doesn't always work... As in, the files may appear to be deleted on the third party application list, however there are certain files which still remain in the phone and do not entirely get wiped out..even some of the applications recommended by bb..
now to recheck tat, one has to go to the main bb menu... select applications, then select FILES, n next select FILE FOLDERS, after tat click on BLACKBERRY n then there wud be the application downloads list.. u wud be amazed to find certain programs still there even when deleted like the way u mentioned.. u can select those applications n delete them here. this will ensure tat the elimination is PERMANENT... try it... n hey thanks again...
onesmartwoman, 25 Jun 2010hey there... big problem... all of a sudden none of my media files as in the sings or the vide... moreWhen a core app starts to fail, your best option is to reload the OS or update. The media player could have a glitch or a bug and will keep on messing up. My mom's 8350i had that issue and I updated her phone and now it's working. So, try and see if you want to update it or get your carrier's official OS from the BB website.
blackberrian, 25 Jun 2010hahaha..there is been so long i dont come n give comment here..anybody miss me??hahahaha.. ... moreHey, it's been a while since I've heard from you! Well, to answer your questions, like onesmartwoman said, press menu and then Show All to see any hidden apps. But sometimes there are icons like Myspace that are shortcuts and not apps. They have to be downloaded and you can't delete them. To see what you actually do have installed go to (OS 4.6) Menu-Options-Advanced Options-Applications. This will show you all the apps. On OS 5 go to Menu-Opciones-Applications and you can see third party apps (games, themes, apps you download) and you can see the RIM apps like WLM, BBM and others on a different list. From here you can delete what you don't want. As for memory, there are apps like Quick Pull and another one that reboot your phone when you reach a certain limit of memory but I don't really think you need that. To "shrink" the OS, deleting things you don't use from the BB core apps, you need something like BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife. I don't know the page but google BBSAK and you might find it. Or, on your phone, google MaxMem and that will delete files you don't need and then delete itself and allows you to have more memory. I haven't used it but people recomment it alot. Investigate a bit before using these memory apps because you might delete something you shouldn't.
krixtine, 24 Jun 2010I cant use my BB anymore... have u tried this kind of problem guys?No point suffering in silence. Just return it to the seller. Simple!

... morehey hi, long time no see... well to answer ur question abt if u hide a file by mistake , wat cud u do abt it.. you can do 2 things,
1) click on the bb button and choose the option show all. the file will be seen.
2) click on the APPLICATIONS ICON in the menu, then click on the FILES ICON. then choose FILE FOLDERS.
it will show device memory and media card. choose MEDIA CARD. after that choose BLACKBERRY OPTION and then u can select the place where ur file was n u will be able to see it under tat heading. for eg application world if u have downloaded something u cant see...
hope this is helpful...
john, 23 Jun 2010i have a berry silly question..is BBM avail with 8520? is that extra charge or does it need in... moredude,
of coz its avail with gemini..but the thing is u need to u/stand to get ur smartphone runs better n better n get all out of it n use or try all the features in the device u MUST HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION!!..not just BB only..
therefore,to run ur BB smoothly w/out hassle u need an internet connection..yes,u can surf via wifi or data plan (BIS)..But,BB has a 'special case'..in order to get the features like push notifications to ur device,u need to sign up with the BIS..the apps like, FB,ym,twitter,UR PARTICULAR EMAILS,n BBM are only working if u have the BIS..w/out BIS,ur device cant get the FULL BENEFITS such as push notifications and so on..
if u r just willing to surf the emails or FB or whatever yes,u can do it..but only in the mobile site..meaning to say,if let say u want to open ur yahoo email,u need to open it via browser then do it like u do it in PC..LOL..but with BIS,u can crate ur emails client n get the push notifications..same like FB,u can d/load that app from BB apps world n nah,u get the notification..
Learn more buddy..dont just simply ask..
hahaha..there is been so long i dont come n give comment here..anybody miss me??hahahaha..
so,i just want to ask a few quest..perhaps JRF or anybody who knows this might help..
1)how do i check any apps or whatever install in my device (whether i know or not) IF i accidentally click on the 'hide'??
2)is there any apps from BB apps world which can boost up the memory of the device??
just for telling someone who didnt know, nowadays the themes in BB app world can be installed easily n straight away use it..no more need to open with the BB device manager then do a little bit technical stuff..but if u get the themes from other sites then i guess u need to do that way(via BB device manager)..
