bb buyer, 14 Oct 2009this is such an amazing phone dieing to get it in my hands
I have this incredible phone and is very easy to use and all necessary tools and priced right.
I just bought this handset and tried playing the videos, but they dont play. Pls can anyone tell me how to play divx/xvid on bb 8520. Thank u in advance.
will someone please tell me...does this phone has a document editor or do i have to use a 3rd pardy app?
I can wait to get this phone on my hand....
I has many research to this phone and the result is FANTASTIC!!!!
Best features, best reliability n also best price...
I love 8520...
I've played on my friend's version and compared to my BB Bold it seems to have a much better keyboard (nicer spacing and harder keys) and solid construction. The optical trackball is sooo much better too, less scrolling compared to the ball and responsive enough. My current ball is so dirty n getting slow, probably will have to replaced soon (>10 months old).
My friend was complaining about the lack of flash for the camera though, could be better. Depends on how much you use the camera!
@JLP it really depends on what you use your BB for. It has all the major BB functions in a really quite nice simple compact form. Only thing that worried was the lack of 3G but seems to be okay via EDGE if you are not a hardcore web user (better wait for the big screen Storm 2 in that case, even with the Bold I am ALWAYS zooming and scrolling across/down on pages). If you are buying on contract and this phone meets your needs, it could save you money as I can imagine when the 9700 is launched it would be more expensive. The keypad quality and optical trackpad is a good step up in itself IMO
There was still had the BB Maps Icon and Google maps always works a treat for uncomplicated navigation. Plus the upgraded BBM is awesome too...

Guess your best bet is to wait for Bold 9700 since you are currently already using the Bold 9000. Think of the lack of gps, just a 2mp camera etc for the Curve 8520.
Not worth your effort to switch...

no 3G for 300 euro? BB are crazy and their customers are even more.
How is the new trackpad? That is the only thing stopping me from buying this phone. Worried where it would stop responding to the touch....
I currently use the Bold 9000 and it is beginning to break down a little after I dropped it multiple times. I am planning to switch to this, should I? Would it be considered a downgrade?
Bought BB8520 after comprehensive research and it met all expectations. A great buy.
