No one ever said that all BlackBerry-phones are locked to a specific network. It depends in which country its being sold and if RIM BlackBerry and any of the provider decide if there is going to be a exclusivity-deal.
In The Netherlands you can buy the phone without contract for about 250-300 euros, and with contract starting 25/mnth

I have to say from my experience with bb i am happy with this handset. THere has not been many changes but changing the rollerball option for a touch sensor was a good idea. I dont know about anybody else but I've had to replace my bb 2 times because of this rollerball. Nightmare why did they just not keep the scroller at the side.
Guys I was using an e71.which i lost..n i m plannin to pick up a new phone...i want to use a BlackBerry Curve 8520...comparing the handsets i found the processors are different..the on the e71 is the ARM 11 processor with a speed of 369 MHz processor...however the blacberry's got a 512MHz processor....So which one is better...is it worth picking a blackberry or is it better to again buy an e71....moreover found that the edge data transfr speed on the blackberry is slower compared to the e71
is the phone functionality (volume , interface) of BlackBerry Curve 8520 better than the functionality of Nokia E71 ????
I have a E71 , is it worth changing it with a BlackBerry Curve 8520 ??
Thanx In Advance ..
no 3G? its either one or the other. im starting think blackberry is becoming lame! even the camera is still poor!! whats next bb?? there isnt much changes really.. just the model number!
No 3G isn't truely a bother for those who just want the Blackberry experience for cheap, the lack of 3G was intended by Blackberry to create a new product using the optical trackpad and to include a new line of GPRS / EDGE range which will be upgradable to the new BOS 5.0. If you want 3G, wait until the next model, else, this phone isn't that bad at all even if it doesn't have all the features other phones include. If you want a good camera then go buy a digital camera, not that hard.
Of course it has a CPU, what would make it run programs or even start up without a CPU?
saeid, 13 Aug 2009even a calculator has a CPU for this phone there is no official info about it's Cpuyou will find information on the cpu on the page, its 512mhz
