artherius, 04 Oct 2009hi guys! i would like to know your opinion on which of these BB phones is worth buying: BB Bol... moreDo not buy the Tour. It does not have WI-FI!! Dats dat!! Still comparin the bold 9000 & the curve 8900...In terms of size, the curve is more compatible. They are both great phones, the curve is more stylish, though the bold has a leather back. The curve has a better camera. The bold has a 1GB internal memory which is very good, which is way more than the curve. I just think the bold is too big, but I still love it. I kno wat it's like 1st hand, jus need to get my hands on a curve to really compare them. But for now, I'm leanin towards the bold side of life...For now...
My trackball is not rolling dow or selecting after 3 months!
what can i do?
i live in Jamaica..

plz guys could u tell me more abt this phone and the bad side of this phone
I've owned this phone for about 2 months now (in fact I'm using my 8900 to write this comment) and I can honestly say that the GSMarena review matches perfectly w/ my personal experience.
The picture-taking capabilities are good for a 3mp camera, but the video recording is simply horrendous to say the least. The free themes that can be downloaded are always fun for the eye, but nothing really useful there.
Texting, mms, social weblinks are all within a cpl of clicks of the trackball, so there's no problem there. Internet dependability varies based on coverage and the screen itself is simply bright and easy to read. Even at 50% Setting, it is very easy to read in direct sunlight.
The hardware itself is reliable. I came from a samsung e730 (loved the t9 on that) and so it took me about a full week to get used to a QWERTY keyboard. Once I did get used to it, it is pretty fun to use (I still have a tendency to miss a keystroke or 2 every now & then).
No trackball issues here, the only issue I have is the extremely poor video recording capabilities.
1st free app I would suggest downloading is "poynt". It is a GREAT tool for locating anything around town.

Presto!! it will download and accept... hope that helps??
Excellent phone! Does about everything. Very proud of my purchase and i seriously think this is better than the Bold. 3G doesn't mean much
Thanks anonymous person for the advice :), but still I dont see why the 8900 is so much better, he costs here in belgium 200 euro more then the 8520. And besides the camera, screen colours and GPS, there are no differences.
I also prefer the 8900, but I just want to spend my money right, because the difference of 200euro is not nothing.
Thanks for the responds.
ps: Luke, what do u mean ' I respond to Jeremie' ? Regards
Wildchick, 30 Sep 2009Bold or curve? which 1 has better software?bold has better software and a faster processor....
you should always choose 8900 over 8520. i have 8900 and it is superb model. i have had no issues with trackball and none of my colleagues (mobile phone retailer) have had any issues either. battery life is potentially only 1 day with medium to heavy use but show me a top-end smartphone that doesn't need charging every day. with the amount of wi-fi/hsdpa/3g/gps phones now on the market you need to change your expectations to charging every day.
Hey everyone,
im considering buying a BB, but hesitating between the 8900 and the 8520. Now, what I want to know from people who have some experience:
1. How is the trackpad on the 8520, worth it? because I heard u have a lot of problems with the roller on the 8900!!
2. both are 2G, is 3G really a big difference concerning the speed and so on? Or is 2G enough?
3. Except from the better camera and colours, why should I buy the 8900, when the 8520 is much cheaper!!
PLEASE RESPOND, thank you everybody!!
Regards
I had almostly made up my mind & finalised to buy either 8900 or 8520 "BLACKBERRY". But just on the fag end i experienced & also got feedbacks from my friends that, the battery conks of sooner - means everyday charging is mandatory. The bluetooth does not synchonize with 'nokia' at all. With a pc it keeps asking for a passkey even after the pairing is thru. Last! While the b.b is tucked inside the holster, the keys on the keypad are in constant pressure.
Hence, am contemplating to go for either "SAMSUNG" omnia B7320 pro or more advanced B7330. The camera resolution is good, supports 3G and has card slot for 16gb & 32gb respectively. The outlook seems to be close to B.B., yet priced economically.
