It clears processes done at the background even though your not using that app. But it does not close the app itself. So the phone's processor can rest. I think thats how it saves battery life.
Get E72 instead if you want to combine business with a little entertainment.
I would like to ask how do i get the GPS work for the 8900? And where can i get the Blackberry Map?
I save my battery life by enabling memory clean up during screen locks. Its under the security options. It saved my battery by atleast 40%.
Kid Pinas, 18 Jun 2009how about the battery? is it really for a day or less?the batterie life is ok it will last you a day if its fully charged, just depends how much u use it,e.g internet, pin messaging, blackberry downloads etc etc will take it down qickly but all in all its reasonable

Nina, 10 Jun 2009I happen to have both the bold 9000 and the curve 8900,(work and private) and i can honestly s... morehi thanks for the advice loving the 8900 curve massive phone,so much to do so little time haha cheers nina
Javelin 8900 keypad is better than bBld 9000...still expensive in Middle East at this time....waaaaahhhh
Phone is absolutely brilliant i have to say!
Only 1 problem and it seems to be a recurring thing=the battery life is awful and nowhere near what the spec says. My battery is dead in under a day and i'm not even using it that much, i'm scared to if i am out cos i don't wanna kill the battery life by using anyway!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Other than that - spot on phone! :-D
Got my phone yesterday, is freaken awesome.
One question though... I am trying to install Desktop software for my curve 8900 but am not successful. I keep getting a message which says something about trying to find some device_switch.dll.
Please advise if you can assist.
great phone, alots of application , business regular consumer built for anybody iwould recommend
The 8900 And the 9000 bold are both great phones
If you dont mind size, the bold is better but does have some issues. Also the bold has 3G which helps a lot
If you are looking for something smaller and dont mind not having 3G, the 8900 is better.
I personally like the 8900 more and its newer
