just a response to some of the posts below:
*Yes this phone does ring and vibrate at the same time.
*The call quality is super, no adverse effects even when the volume is maxed. Infact, I'd say the call quality is very clear. I think maybe you encountered a bad batch of phones.
On a side note, the loudspeaker quality is quite good and for those who want to get a phone that can ring loud and play MP3's through the stereo loudspeakers with good quality, you might want to think of this as a cheaper alternative of the N95. It does not have an equilizer setting like the N95 but the sound is crystal clear through the speakers.
This device also gives an outstanding performance when listening through a decent pair of headphones to your MP3's.
again, the volume can be turned up quite loud.
Video playback is of high quality.
I'm rather impressed with the battery life so far. It does'nt take long to charge the battery to full.
8120 is a very cool phone. i work for tmobile and got to play with it a few days ago when it came in to the store. havent released it as of yet but its very similar to the bb curve minus the full key board. the one thing that makes me jelous of this phone is the video camera. if the curve had the video feature on it it would be a complete phone. but i would sugest this phone to anyone who was looking for a nice phone!
does anyone know if this device play the ringtone and vibrate at the same time or it vibrates and then rings?
i purchased this phone a few days ago and i'm really happy with it..i just have one question..does anyone know how does this device play youtube videos?
To answer the call log question, it depends on whether you have a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) you connect to or not. BES servers can keep a log of the call as well as the call duration indefinitely. In fact, the call logs can be set to remain even if you change to different Blackberry devices. It all depends on what your administrator has set as a setting for your user profile. If you are using this from work, ask your IT department regarding this.
Without BES, you may have used a carrier-handled server for push email and in that case you would have to talk to your carrier for this information.
Without a Blackberry data plan, the phone uses internal memory for these logs and it will be limited by the amount of free memory you have. Call logs take up very little space, so I would imagine it would be practically limitless.
can anyone update how many days call records does this phone have?
Hi everyone. I'm so dissappointed with what i paid for. the Blackberry 8120 is not a phone for busineseman, but for kid. to me it looks like a $10 phone that i bought for my nephew. i don understand how the RIM make those kind of phone. if i were the businessman and using the blackberry 8120, i would be ashame.
this blackberry is for teens and kids in their twenties who think they can show it off everyone has one some carriers give it away bottom line
this isnt style man its common and yes blackberry pearl has standard features want real style get a htc touch its just as styleish as an iphone and its got wifi
The call quality on this phone is not good especially when the earpiece volume is turned up to maximum volume. There seems to be a resonating or vibrating noise.
I have tested two different handset's and they both sound the same.
Ask to try one before you buy.
This blackberry phone rocks! Business Class! amazing Software & Performance! Wow! Great size too! should come with a stainless steel casing for the Elite Class!
To whoever said the Nokia N73 thing, I upgraded mine to an N95 8GB and will upgrade this to the N96. DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR N73 UNTIL THE N96 COMES OUT!
p.s. you can't edit word/ exel you can't view Youtube. You've only got 40 odd applications to download. This is not a business tool, it's an e-mail jockey. Whoooppp-de-do!!! Is that all anyone really wants from life??? Get over it, get a HTC.
RIM sucks big time guys. When is everyone going to get over the fact that BB connect is a complete rip off? Windows Mobile rules!!!!
I had a Treo 750 before this phone, and a Nokia N73. I had this phone for 1 week now and this phone is small, light and powerful. I love receiving my e-mail effortlesly (nobody can beat the Bberrys on this). Pretty fast through the menus, call quality is excellent, voice rec is excellent, flash and camera quality also excellent. The battery can go days without recharging. It is stylish, something a smartphone normally does not have. I have installed applications on it, and syncs flawlessly with my Mac and work PC. I will give this phone 5 stars. I'm loving it.
I wouldn't change my N73 for nothing.
Maybe you can keep them both? That would be the smartest move.
hi could someone please tell me how loud the speakers on the 8120 are now that it has the two speakers thank you
