can't wait to see it.. a "blackberry" with android taste.. hope blackberry will not leave the real blackberry users just to reach the market.
someone who said, it must have adobe flash, he really dont know about flash. so much malware when using flash player, thats why now chrome not support flash, and just for u know, adobe flash player is shutdown. no more update ( discontinued), now webmaster use html5. its more secure.

coming from a computer hardware technician and crackberry addict BB is off to a good start with this new phone.
Here's the run down ceo's-------
1.) The name Priv sucks! there is no better way to say this. Venice is better if you have to use a lame name.
2.) you want to build a phone to make waves and re-establish your position in the market don't come with a pansy processor 2.0 to 2.2 with at least a dual or quad core processor will see you at least 5yrs. into the future with this or any new phone you build. THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR WEAKNESS OF YOURS! and punishment for us loyalist. 1.6Ghz was the minimum like 6yrs ago! I can't believe they still allow processors below this speed.
3.) I should charge you for this!
4.) I use a torch now I have had the 9800 and now have the 9810 I can out type most anyone using an adaptive touch screen keyboard without selecting pop up words using a touch screen. The QWERTY key board in the right hands will blow away most people all the time in a text conversation or instant email chat. yea that's right i said instant e-mail chat! You can do that with a blackberry keyboard.
5.) The slide is awesome i have been looking for a replacement slide for my 9810 for 2yrs. now. I was really worried. Touch screen has it's limited advantages (usually when browsing) but, it can't compete with a keyboard for correspondence
6.) BB biggest weakness since the outbreak of Android and I phone has been it's limited app capabilities. latching onto the Android app market is a incredibly smart decision. If you can do it as a gue or with some kind of generic yet seamless ( and I mean seamless) bit of software that would be even better without sacrificing security. 90% to 100% compatibility with android apps would be more than awesome.
7.) phone absolutely neeeeeeds Adobe software i.e pdf reader or more and most importantly Adobe flash player which has been missing for ever. both of these need to be constantly upgradeable to the latest version. Adobe pdf is very secure and Adobe flash player is necessary to watch any video that is not running solely on Java.
8.) Very important to have removable storage. Most smart phone's are getting away from this these days in favor of lager internal storage but removable storage is by far the best way to recover from dropping your phone in the water or running it over. or if it just stops working. I still have micro sd from 3 phones ago and it has carried my info seamlessly from one phone to the next no matter how the last phone met it's end. no cloud needed but still optional!
9.) I don't know if there is a way to get the battery in this phone to be removable and still have this style of phone be structurally sound but having a removable battery is another super important thing that aids to a phone's longevity. A batteries ability to recharge diminishes long before a responsible phone owner's phone is useless and, usually before any 2 year contract could possibly come to a end. it has always been very nice to be able to purchase a replacement battery for 10 to 20 bucks and have my $400 to $600 dollar phone NOT BE WORTHLESS!
10.) Speaking of structure; BB has built solid droppable phone's with the curve, bold, torch and, similar phone's that my colleagues and I have used for years. BB users can attest to the fact that you have to drop a traditional BB phone just right to see it's demise. other manufacturers have been putting cheap breakable phone's on the market for years forcing their customers to purchase expensive cases and protective gear. The phone i have owned the longest is my 9810 without any case what so ever! I had a salesperson actually approach me in a store when I was looking for a blackberry replacement and he wouldn't leave me alone (this may seem extreme but) when he wouldn't go away I threw my torch 9810 at the floor and made a phone call right in front of him afterwords to let him hear the phone ring and then asked him if he had anything on his shelf that could do that. He then stopped talking to me about all the junk on the shelf and started telling my about how the only phone that i could get to do that would be some kind of junk rugby or simple military grade phone. Wrong! blackberry had been putting rugged somewhat capable phone's out for years. HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PUT OUT A RUGGED VERY CAPABLE PHONE! LETS DO IT!
Amazing Phone, i want get it.
how much price of this we expect
They haven't mentioned about the battery backup. since long years bb is lagging for its battery. & in comparison with samsung 6 edge it suppose to have better battery.
AnonD-311269, 29 Sep 2015Hi It is disspointing that Blackberry is distrusting her OS. Instead of working in it untill ... moreNot that it needs saying, but Blackberry's issue is not specifically their OS, but the apps NOT available nor being created to work well with it. I too love my Blackberry for the connectivity of it's OS (i.e. the Hub experience) but their hardware still struggles to compete (the competition is getting exceedingly more difficult to match) and their application selection is crippling. Even the Android apps that can be installed do not run well because they do not run natively on the OS. This is a good move for Blackberry, though I believe an even better move would be to create BB "editions" option through the other phones/OS's on the market to eliminate the hardware debate and sell what everyone loves most about their BB, the unparalleled robustness of the e-mail and connectivity experience. They could still offer hardcore BB phones which are focussed solely on the old core market (hard keyboards with big batteries, best security, and excellent durability for power users), and avoid always being compared to the latest super phones from Apple, Samsung, Google, LG, HTC, etc., etc. This PRIV looks like a happy concession that blends the two approaches and tests the new OS and hardware waters before they make any drastic moves corporately.
Another fantastic BlackBerry phone!
It has dual front facing speakers at the bottom of the phone.
how about the sound ? single speaker ? no stereo ?
Parvez, 29 Sep 2015This is very good thinking. We will get more security as well as latest and best OS. Thanks BB... moresliding is somewhat vintage and vintage is loved by many..
waiting for this beast eagerly .....i know my one slide will slice all the other android phones.....
Looks promising. I have no problem with the switch to Android, but will we still have Blackberry Blend and Documents to Go? They're the main reason I'm a Blackberry user.
This is a good device and blackberry should make 2 of these, one high end and one low to medium end in order to broaden their target market
I love my q10 but i cant wait this the PRIV! hurry blackberry and take my money!
