I am not considering Nokia (or any other brand) at the moment, my main confusion is between the BlackBerry Q5 and BlackBerry Q10.
I do agree that (from my point of view), the Q10 is way overpriced beyond reasonable support (I know many might not like this, but again, that is my opinion in comparison with other offerings at the same price range). BUT, as I have long used BlackBerry devices before, there is something about whatever they make that is "special", don't know what it is or why is there anything special about it, I think only someone who actually used several models would know that feeling.
Now, again, I was interested in "returning" to BlackBerry again but got stuck in choice between Q10 and Q5. The way I saw it, Q10 is unrealistically overpriced (not new from RIM) and the Q5 on the other hand is having more features than similar offerings in it's price range (mainly the 2GB RAM at

Big improvement over the Bold and Torch. BBM messagong works fine. Secondary camera most welcome. Great phone I would buy anyday.Processor fast enough and at 4G you can jet ahead. Only problem: Overpriced. Frightfully expensive.
A Nokia E5 does a similar job at a slower pace and a lower price. i would buy a Q10 anyday, but for the price. The Q5 is a better deal. I dont know what your requirements are, but I use a Laptop and desktop for serious work. i just love the BBM and QWERTY phones.Hate touchphones.Sadly the QWERTY is a dying breed.
AnonD-190491, 27 Sep 2013As far as I know, at the moment there is no Viber app for Blackberry 10. You can install Skype... moreviber not available for Q10?
strange it is for 9900, I installed it today morning, the only thing that UAE-etisalat blocked the call but the other functionality are ok.
I need a real user response on this please.
I'm thinking of giving BlackBerry a second chance (I've been a sole BB user until Torch 9860, then started looking elsewhere). Now that I'm looking at the new BB10 devices, I got a bit confused between Q5 and Q10.
The only solid difference I found between them is the camera resolution and the type of display, other differences are minimal (1.2 vs 1.5 processor, support 64GB memory vs. 32GB...etc).
My question, can anyone advice if the change really worth the price difference between them? I'm in UAE and Q10 costs around ($700) while Q5 is around ($390).
Thank you in advance.
Scooby, 27 Sep 2013Are you experiencing the Q10 screen staying black when receiving or making calls? Is anyone e... moreHello, I have noticed a similar issue, but it is a while that it is not occurring. Maybe it is / was a bug in the OS. The screen sometimes turned black after the second or third ring, so I just swiped the screen up and than I could answer to the call. Now everything is OK.
The following is just for the sake of mentioning it, although you surely already know it. When receiving calls, prior to answering, the bottom half of the screen is black and there are arrows pointing downwards to a phone icon. The upper half of the screen is in my case blue, I think it depends of the wallpaper. To answer the call, one has to touch, hold and drag the name or the number of the caller, which is in the middle of the screen, to the bottom. To decline the call, one has to touch & hold the caller's info and drag it upwards. If one just touches the bottom half of the screen the call is silenced.
What I occasionally miss is the possibility to decline a call with a txt message. There are news that this option will be available in the 10.2 update.
