ok for all you people that are complaining about the lack of wi-fi heres the deal
the 9500 storm in the uk is only available on vodafone
and comes with unlimited interent and email usage so no need to worry about it eating into ur call time
with respects to people saying wi-fi is faster, well yes wi-fi is faster if you are using a laptop
mobile phones wi-fi is rather slow
i have compared internet browsing using my nokia n95 8gb runing on my home wi-fi against my BB9500 storm runing on vodafone 3G
its about the same reli

conclusion
who needs wifi wen vodafone 3g is just as fast and i can use it anywhere, no need for wifi hot spots

My advice to all who want to buy this product is DO NOT buy Blackberry Storm it is absolutely garbage. This is my second handset that has gone for repair for the second time the first one was just as bad but managed to return it within 14days. People who are dissing it coz it doesn’t have WiFi my problem is much simpler than that It keeps on dropping calls at least one in five, every time I start the camera it starts rebooting itself. And that press on screen it is sooooo annoying, very very user Unfriendly.

I always give a phone at least two months test before commenting on it. I have had this phone for almost exactly two months now and need to tell everyone not to get it!

It does lots of things but it doesn't do them very well and it also takes a long time to not do them very well.

The signal is terrible, I stood next to a friend on the same network who had full signal and I had none!

It is not particularly user friendly and you cannot personalise it easily. For instance, the alarm tone CANNOT be changed and it is the most annoying beep in the world. No one likes being worken up but I dread it because of the stupid alarm.

Please don't get it and at least let my mismerable experience of this phone hinder others!

I have to say, having read so many disappointing reviews of the 9500, i was rather apprehensive about purchasing one. A month afterwards and i have no regrets!

True - battery life is poor, but In the last 6 months of having my Blackberry Curve, i got used to charging it every night anyway, so it's not too much of a deal to me. I just place it in the dock when i send my computer to sleep and pick it up the next morning when i wake the computer back up.

Screen quality is great, camera is good if a bit slow at taking the photo. GUI is great, i love it, it's sexy and futuristic and looks so much better on the touchscreen than on the Bold or new Curve...

Which brings me to another thing i was apprehensive about - the clicking touch screen. After a month of using it, I can safely say i'm used to it. It isnt as dramatic a click as a physical button, nor is it as loud. Typing on the device also takes a great deal of getting used to after physical keys on the old Curve, however with a SureType keybaord in portrait view and the full QWERTY keyboard in horizontal view, youre sure to find a layout thats comfy to you. And to be honest, having come from the QWERTY keyboard of the old Curve, ive found myself much, MUCH more comfortable with the SureType board.

For anyone apprehensive about buying this device, I suggest you go to your local Vodafone shop and at least try it first. It is, after some getting used to, a lovely device. Im thoroughly happy with mine. In fact the only REAL problem ive found with it is that I cant get a signal at my girlfriends house, which isnt a problem if you consider it in two ways - 1) her house is built like an Andersen Shelter, no signal in the house, but stand on the porch and i get a full 3G signal. 2) i shouldnt really be spending all my time on my phone when im with her anyway.

Overall score for me - 8/10

if rim just eats their pride and make the new
storm 9550 an ordinary non-clickable touch screen, its a sure winner, they will beat the iphone in sales and popularity. even the 9500, if it has an ordinary non clickable screen with wifi, it killed the iphone.
this could have been the best in the market period.
but rim's pride of staying with the clicky and not hearing the user's bad experience and reaction to the previous storm tells that rim does not care about the users. they have that pride of making a unique clickable touchscreen and thats what they care about, even if the blackberry users did not like it and having a hard time using it, they dont care.
if rim has that attitude, then i say they dont deserve their consumers. shame on you RIM!
i hope 9550 will have poor sales, that will slap your faces and make you realize what a dumb idea you had.

So Crackberry have put out a video of the Storm 2 working. Still has clickscreen, laggy software, no change in camera and the OS, at this stage, is identical. Changes simply to sleeker design and build quality ONLY. How pathetic!
