This is really a very lousy phone. I would not reccomend anyone to get. It hangs almost all the time! I have to remove the batt at least twic a day to reset the phone. The batt life suck and there is a problem with sending and receiving mms. I called my service proider about the MMS problem and they weren't shock, apparently they have received such complaints and is working with RIM to correct the problem. Dust tends to get stuck in between the screen and behind the phone in the speaker mash.
Its a very user friendly phone though, easy to msg and stuff. Casing is also very sturdy, just those few problems listed above was enough to make me sell off my phone after one month.
never mind if don't have wifi and radio, but don't have "secondary camera" for video call i CAN'T ACCEEPT! very bad phone for me!
i hope rim eats their pride of making a unique touchscreen because they want their phone to be different to all touchscreen phones, but the surepress is terrible. rim is lying, they say its a successful technology and storm has very good sales, its not successful, its terrible and a shame on rim's good image as a phone maker. yes it may have good sales but also a huge returns! i saw many returning because of the terrible touchscreen, and i saw many are replacing because of the faulty screen! admit it or not, verizon and vodaphone suffers because of the big number of replacements of storm users!
hey mr. RIM CEO how could you call this a successful one!?? shame on your company!!!!
billy, 16 Jun 2009when you touch it do you really feel something on the phone? When touching the screen, the icon, contact name, etc appears highlighted. To commit to selecting highlight just press harder so the whole screen clicks just a little.

I simply love this phone and totally agree with your comments, is definitely not for an average user and people with no patience to learn how to use the storm. lastly, of all comments in this forum, you're the smartest because you don't simply judge. User must understand their needs before they decide on a phone. Cheers! Renee

I am not "techie" as you phrase it, but not stupid enough not to know how to use a phone. Trouble is this handset simply does not perform, even in the hands of a techie, since it has too many fundamental flaws and faults.
Your sincerely,
Snowy flakes.

this phone has great features.... when it works
i got one in december and im on my 4th one to date due to faults with the handsets... the barrery life is rubbish
Looking at the specs of some of the new crop of handsets coming out RIM are going to have to go something to keep up, let alone take an advantage. I can't see them bothering to do either.
this is almost a pretty good phone.
i hope rim will just make a simple touchscreen when the next storm comes out. no pressing of screens, surepress i think is not bad, i like it but what makes me worry is when it wear out because i always browse my phone, so pushing the screen most of the time will wear it out after months. it will not last long enough to me, so i think i will wait for a storm that will have a normal capacitive touchscreen.
I've been using the phone for well over three months, at first it was a bit annoying but the fact is that this phone isn't meant for the average phone user, it's kinda a geeky phone which suits me just fine.
All the complaints about the short battery life and slow response and whatever are from users who haven't really got time to learn how to use the phone, they always end up comparing it to other touch screen phones most of which i have used so i can understand their frustration when simple things done with the iphone or 5800 seems like an uphill task for the storm, however like i said before it just takes a little bit of getting used to.
I wouldn't recommend it for the average phone user or even to previous black berry users because its not exactly like all other blackberries, but for the technologically curious and adventurous phone users i say go bet yourself one, its a COOL phone.
well if i have to rate this phone i will give -5/10.
what a rubbish phone.
shame to blackberry puting this phone on the Market.
I think i could design a better phone then this.
