I've just posted a very similar report on the Storm, with almost exactly the same issues as you. i am really regretting getting this phone as although some of the features are very good, it simply does not deliver the business solutions/applications that I was expecting. You are so right about the keyboard. Goodness knows how men with big hands manage the keyboard if I cant!!

I have had the Storm for just over 10 days now and I'm really struggling with the touch keyboard. I am pretty fast on a normal keypad phone/qwerty, but this is driving me nuts as I am having to go back and recompose over and over again as it is difficult to hit the right 'keys'. Also if I make an error and try to go back to correct, it's almost impossible to use hover cursor as you can't see the screen for your fingertip!!! I have increased the senstivity and lowed the 'hover' but that doesn't seem to make any difference. sometimes the tilt switch takes over 2 seconds to activate, if you get a spell check word come up and press it,it doesn't do anything and you have to press at least 5 times to get it to correct, I can't get it to load one of my emails addresses and it seems to 'drop' contacts at random!! And to add insult to injury, the software does seem to want to load on my PC. I think I want my trust Nokia 95 back!!!
Anyone had any similar probs and do you think the BB is faulty?

Got the Storm today and love it, find it real easy to use, far better than iPhone IMO, and b4 ppl say that i dont have a clue, i owned both iPhones and got rid of them, battery on iPhone sucks and so does WiFi,

i dont see why everyone keeps going on about wifi, its not needed, are you really going to be downloading loads of stuff to your phone? doubt it, also just remember that just 10 years ago we didnt even have GPRS or dial up wap.

The features of the storm are brilliant and i cant believe that i wsnt going to get it cause of how much i disliked the iPhone, i can see me keeping this phone for a long time

Yes this phone nice, but HTC HD is indeed a better phone cause it covers all what BB is lacking & more!!!

You have to close all application, other wise they run in the backgruond like a PC.

Hi all I purchased an unlocked bb storm 1 week ago. I like the phone looks and feel with the new keyboard, however i have been having a hard time dealing with the terrible battery life. After only 4 hrs of about 5 calls and checking emails twice the phone went DEAD on me. It happens day after day with this phone. How fustrating. Does anyone else have this expierence or is it that i bought a defective device (lemon)
                  > thx

Hey guys, donno if you have realised the following but i do think BB has got a few things wrong in the 9500:
                      1. No Wifi(Serious Drawback) 2. No World Clock & Temprature feature (should have been there considering a business traveller) 3. Calculator is just 8 digit!! (Please let me know if otherwise)4. Maps not useful at all (atleast in my region, iPhone has the best map function)5.Ringtone and Vibration do not operate simultaneously.6.No applications/software downloads available (As yet)

These are just a few drawbacks i have encountered since i have bought this phone. Feedback/Solutions will be duly appreciated.

this is the best gadget I've ever had, after my BB Bold and Iphone 3G. I'm happy with all the features. a bit confuse on first exploring, but not for the rest, I'm really enjoy it 100%. well done RIM, and brilliant with the "clicker" screen.

I've been a BB user for a number of years now, however, the purchase of the Storm 9500 recently has made me rethink buying BB ever again. In my opinion RIM has reacted prematurely to the Apple Iphone and has come in a poor second best. A few shortcomings I've experienced with the Storm: 1. Camera has a 2 second delay from pressing the button to actually taking the photo 2. You almost need a stylus finger tip to type accuraetly on the keyboard 3. Display doesnt know whether your in portrait or landscape mode 4. The touch screen really should be re-labelled a 'push screen' as you have to push (click) the screen to navigate. Also I did download the latest software for the Storm and it didnt make any difference to resolve any of the above issues. I encourage anyone who is thinking of buying this phone to reconsider. Give it another year or so for RIM (BB) to get it right! I hear the CIA and FBI have agreed for the new President to have a BB. I trust for his sake it's not a Storm. :)

robgee, 22 Jan 20093G/HSGPA is a service that you have to pay. WiFi is often free to use. This is why it's import... moreBlackBerry's are usually sold on business plan with unlimited data included. Because BB compress data companies can afford to give such plans. SO with unlimited data why would you need WiFi?

this phone is worse than bad, if you get it you will be dissapointed. It has none of the functionality of the iPhone and none of the usability of the Blackberry Bold.

This was my tenth successive Blackberry and i hated it and returned it back to Vodafone (UK). Please, do not buy this phone you will be bitterly dissapointed.

If your primary reason for a blackberry is email, get the Bold or any other full querty physical touch phone, its impossible to hit a key on the storm without hitting at least one other key, it slows email down to a point of being useless.

Good luck, dont buy this one - almost anything else is better.
