i dont think that everybody here has a limited understanding if tech... first thing WIFI is free n i have a complete wireless running through my neighbourhood.... next in this part of the world phones are not on contract u simply buy them n then we dont have 3G yet so cant enjoy hi speed internet but only sluggish GPRS so
THATS WHY THE PHONE NEEDS TO HAVE WIFI!!!

lonestar, 22 Jan 2009anyone ever wondered how come we don't see reviews for the Blackberry handsets??Why do you think there is not review for BlackBerry handsets? It is all over the place. I read a lot of them before getting my Bold. Even wrote my own after getting it.

3G/HSGPA is a service that you have to pay. WiFi is often free to use. This is why it's important to have WiFi. This phone is disappointing...

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2009i just received my storm 9500 is a very bad phone i don't advise anyone to get buy bold is an ... moreToday i have installed new firmware 4.7.0.88 for my Storm 9500 and the problems have been fixed but earlier i had old firmware 4.7.0.78 and the screen wasn't stable but after i had installed the new firmware the phone is excellent same as bold

Ole, 21 Jan 2009I still don't get it... how come neither storm (9500 & 9530) have wifi??? What a waste of screen...The reason that the Storm doesn't have WiFi is the same reason that Igloos don't have air conditioning. They don't need it. WiFi is to enable a phone to connect to the internet. The Storm is a 3G/HSGPA phone that is already *ON* the internet. It runs on broadband and is only sold with a unlimited internet plan in most places where I have seen it offered. To connect to my home network I simply log on as though I was in my Office.
I really can't understand why so many people have such a limited understanding of technology that they can't grasp the concept. WiFi is old hat, really good *fast* phones on broadband plans don't need it. I have a Storm and I travel almost continuously and have yet to find an occasion where WiFi would have been of any use.
The only thing that I would like to see added would be a hi-res camera like the Sony C905, but as I have both a compact and a DSLR, I can live without it.

hey its the worst phone to say cause they tried to make an i phone out off it .its failed miserabely people need to grow up and my not falling for this one cause i have had a hands on experience .

It is today's phone people. No WiFi cause it uses 3G network HSDPA technology, which eliminates the need for WiFi. When you can get internet from your cellular phone network what is the use of Wifi.
