Terrible phone. The floating screen feels like it will break, and the OS is trying to be like iPhone but failing so badly. And no WiFi? What were they thinking??
The only advantage of this phone will be your Blackberry email capability. Other than that, you're better off with an iPhone.
I actually work for one of the UKs biggest phone shops and have been advised we should be getting it after 3 months and it will be the unlocked version also so wait for that if you really want it instead of putting up with the locked software problems.
Vodafone have only signed a 3 months exclusivity deal with Blackberry and we have the codes up for the Storm already so should have after the new year
Probably on the usual networks ie o2, orange
guyz if you dont own storm please donr comment on it
YOU CAN SEND AND RECIEVE CUSTOM RINGTONES go to ur ringtone folder n click on option then slcik on RECIEVE USING BLUETOOTH n it will recive do the same process on recieng videos n picturs

ManFromOz, 11 Dec 2008To all these people bagging vodafone about these being crap phones i have been looking for a ... moreI have an Omnia. I had a few issues with it initially, now it is working fine. Gets email on a push basis as well. The Omnia is very well built and has a host more features than the Storm, which if you look at it has the most appalling build quality. Check the dirt and moisture trap round the edge of the floating screen and the flimsy buttons at the bottom. How long do you think it will last. Vodafone UK have at least a 50% returns rate - that tells us a lot
At least that seems to be an acceptable iPhone copy! Now its about usability/syncr etc... I am using the iPhone since a year and never had a better smart phone! Lets hope for RIM to catch up - since I hate Apple as a company for its arrogance, however its products are the best right now
To all these people bagging vodafone about these being crap phones i have been looking for a new phone now for couple weeks i was dead set going to get the omnia thenafter reading reviews on here i was uncertian so wnet to vodafone and sat in shop and palyed with the phone looked at what it coudl and couldnt do the staff are helpful i am now looking at the blackberry casue it does what i wnat so if u looking at a phone go to vodafone and then get hands on wiht the phoen that is why they have live handsets in there shop
we have vodaphone here so I hope that this smartphone will be available soon.
K.Pom, 08 Dec 2008What is the difference between the 9500 & 9530?the 9500 is solely locked to Vodafone network.
Arnaud, 10 Dec 2008Is it possible to get one unlocked (legally) for use in belgium?
Yes,through vodafone customercare, iwork there in australia , we unlock it , fees might apply though
With no wi-fi it stands no chance in the Market especially as it wants to beat the I -phone.
I- phone again is the KING!
Blackberry storm is a great handset, as for the lag and software issues, the update is available on Vodafone website. Sound quality is amazing, touch screen is also really cool and the screen resolution is nice n sharp
