John, 25 Nov 2008No Wi-Fi. Oh Oh. Traveling not all countries offer 3G service even though you need to pay alot... moreYes, i had to agree with John..
I mean, cmon, this BlackBerry Storm is cost a fortune and it doesn't EVEN have wifi??
Yes, it is true we can connect to internet through 3G connection, but what if our provider is having a problem where the internet cannot be access? Who knows right? I mean there's always a chance that our connection is down or having problem..
And we don't have other option to connect to internet such as wifi?? That is so lame..!!
Or perhaps while we going to traveling where other country doesn't provide 3G??
O man, i'm really disappointed by BlackBerry..
I think BB Bold is the best choice for now..
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970was released slightly late on the 14th november actually. we had 10 and sold out on first day
Great phone, looks very causy, but i think blackberry bold is slightly better buy for usuage as compare to storm
No Wi-Fi. Oh Oh. Traveling not all countries offer 3G service even though you need to pay alot of for 3G. My Guess is BlackBerry made the deal with phone companies to not offer Wi-Fi so consumer pay higher monthly bill.... Sorry BlackBerry wait until you put Wi-Fi on your future model then I think about it to buy. Thanks
Love this Phone ! Got phone last friday and it ROCKS. Had a treo 700p, this phones works quicker, is easier to learn, has not frozen or crashed once. The screen is bright, and the touch screen works quickly and with minimal effort. The phone is solid and is fun too hold. The speaker is loud and the bluetooth reception with my BMW worked on first attempt and is clearer than any other Phone I have used in this car. The email features easy to use, the camera pictures and videos sharp. Better Reception and more bars in the hospital compared to the treo. The SMS fucntion perfect for my needs. Overall the Best Phone I have owned to date, and I have Had many, with a new Phone each two year Contract. Have not had an I Phone because Verizon service through the Hospital. I have not even tried all of the features yet. The GPS works perfectly. The Browser is easy to use and quick. Would reccomend this phone . Dr. A
I have had the phone for 2 weeks… and I really wanted to like it, but it is just substandard. Blackberry have not thought about the core market: high volume business users. This devise slowed me down:
My 2 week assessment is:
- nice looking phone, but
- the battery lasts 6 hours (after a 23 hr charge)
- the software is beta at best
- the interface is too sluggish
- typing is very slow as you will need to retype a single word to get the right letters selected
- The push screen is a nice touch, but I cannot see it lasting 18 months as mine is already feeling a little loose (you can move it laterally)
- Landscape to portrait (and visa ve) appears not to care which way the phone is held
- Can’t wait for a software upgrade as I cannot afford to be incommunicado for the next month and Blackberry have not given it’s customer the respect to tell us what is going on
… so I’m voting with me feet and sending mine back. SHAME ON YOU BLACKBERRY!
Bold owns this model, any touch screen phone to me is not a proper phone, stop tring to bring out pretty touchy phone and concentrae on the right features like long battery life and a loud speaker PLEASE!!
Now this comment not really on the bold although I am considering getting this phone, More towards all the I-Phone lovers out there............ Now lets be quite frank about this phone IT is not what its cracked upto be a mean come on with any camera phone you buy you ought to be able to send/receive MMS quite easily BUT oh no not with the i-phone have any of you people who are slating this phone for not having wi-fi actually used this phone and experienced how quickly you can browse the web normally? or is this being left out on purpose as this clearly operates surfing the WEB faster than the i-phone! the hands on experience I have with this is that I am a Technially trained Handset Expert (namely I-Phone) for the operating network for this phone in UK and after countless hours playing and using i-phone I personally would not spit on it if it spontaneously combust as feel it would be more use after it had burned than before. I feel that many people are blind to the i-phones downfalls purely for the fact it bears the Apple name and logo now lets be honest let them stick to i-pod nano's and touch as they manage that layout much better! (in other words stick to what your good at!)

what is the matter with all you moaning that the bold has no wifi! The wifi was left out on purpose because blackberry know people would still buy it and when the wifi version comes out people would get rid of the old blackberry bold for the new wifi version. This is called clever marketing and they know they people will rush out and buy it!Just as they did with the iphone 3g.JUST WAIT FOR THE WIFI VERSION IN 2009.
bb comes out with a phone to compete with iphone and all others coming out with toutch so what they do is come out with a new one called storm.. how ugly it is and the features, like come on.. if ur gona compete atleast have wifi like everyother phone even most of the cheap phones have it these days. no video calling, seriously.. wats the point i'd take the i phone over this phone anydayyyyyyyyyy bb sucks
blackbarry theobold, 23 Nov 2008bluetooth is more secure than anything else out there but to work it, you must firstly pair it... moreI was getting really frustrated with this problem of recieving files from other phones, but now i gotta say THANK YOU VERY MUCH because it has finally worked the way you have described.
Storm VS Iphone 3G
from comparing these 2 phone on this website i have found:
*iphone is slimmer and lighter
*iphone has 16million colour screen bold has 65k
*iphone has bigger screen
*iphone as Wifi - main feature surley for internet based handset
*iphone has much better battery life
*iphone has 8gb/16gb internal memory - you would need to spend an extra £24.99 to get 8gb memory card for storm
*iphone automatically downloads any attachments included in mail an you view the mail exactly how you would on computer - storm has very basic email on it.
iLUVZtehIPOWNZ, 24 Nov 2008I really wanted to love this phone. Really I do. But I am not going to spend the next 18 month... moredid you run the memory cleaner to speed up the UI? did you correclty charge the battery?
Theonick, 23 Nov 2008please name just one touch screen device that was made for finger nails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!umm the lg viewty.. i have it and i have acrillics even and it works.. its brilliant
I really wanted to love this phone. Really I do. But I am not going to spend the next 18 months with it unless they fix these:
1. Signal Issues - Keeps on going to SOS everywhere I go! That's just not dependable!
2. Very Slow User Interface - If RIM can make it even as fast as an iPhone (which is a bit slower than a BlackBerry Bold) then we're talking! Currently it's 3 to 4 times slower than an iPhone, around 5 to 6 times slower than a Bold. Come on RIM!
3. Battery Life - People buy BlackBerry phones because of the battery. This thing sucks more juice than an android phone.
All of which can be fixed via software updates I assume. They say they've been testing it for 18 months now eh?
What, by one person, in one location for 18 months? LoL
