I have just spent some time reading through some of the comments on the Storm. People are not giving it a chance. you cant fully appreciate a phones capabilities after a few days. There is going to be a software release in a couple of weeks so any small glitches that you are having can be ironed out by downloading this to the phone.
You should try this handset first before you have an opinon on it. The I phone is not all its cracked up to be, apple dont make handsets they make music players so they werent going to get it right first time!!! Blackberry are well respected and know their stuff with smartphones. Also this handset was tested for 18 months before its release and the release date was put back by a week to make sure everything was right with it. No handset is going to be 100% perfect 100% of the time, thats just the way of the world. You just need a little patience with it and you will learn to love the Storm!!!!!

This is how you receive files. It does highlight this in the manuall though
I work for Vodafone and have been given this handset to trial, I have never used a Blackberry before but have first hand info about each and everone of them ont hemarket and i have to say this is the best one out there. The touchscreen is brilliant and the features are great!!!! The battery life can decrease but i have found that if you turn 3G off it does last a bit longer. As for an 8 megapixel version being released in December I havent heard this anywhere but never say never!!!

Screen has froze a few times. Bluetooth just does not work, i can send out but have been unable to receive anything to the storm and i've tried 3 peoples phones. NOT GOOD.
I dont know who your friend at Vodafone is but he's clearly barking mad! There is no such 8mp version of the Blackberry Storm due out in December!!!
Hopefully they will have sorted out the problems with the screen and battery life etc etc
i got a mate who works for vodafone an he said that the new storm is out on 15th dec and has 8mp camera, full chat support and comes in red. can't wait!
ive heard they are bringing out a new version of the storm in december... is this true?
Im planning on ordering an unlocked vodafone storm 9500 and using it in the states on Tmobile network. Would there be an issues with that? and also with the tmobile 3g network expanding here would the phone work just as well with the network even tho not purchased in this country?

One of the reasons why I returned this was because of that, not being able to use multi-tasking properly like what a BlackBerry should.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2008Does anyone still think its worth getting this phone as an upgrade, considering its free?NO..................not at all.
Got this phone through vodafone on the day of launch. Very disappointed. Large in size as compared to other smart phones. Not user friendly. Crashes 1-2 time a day. Slow in most of application. Returnig it back tomorrow and going for iphone instead. Not worth the wait !!!!!

Nothing else comes close to a BlackBerry Bold in terms of communicating. The iPhone is good at what it does, media, beautiful UI, stable OS, but it doesn't have a functioning multi-tasking OS.
You can't IM with 15 people at a time with an iPhone, with a BlackBerry, it's easy as pie.
The thing is, you can't do that with the BlackBerry Storm, which is really disappointing, since I really was expecting a FAST device, a STABLE and pretty much an improved experience in all departments.
Sadly, the truth is it's just barely usable.
Crossing my fingers they improve on it soon, otherwise Apple's gonna laugh at RIM's face all the way 'til the iPhone Nano and iPhone HD gets released.

BB will NEVER bring out a phone as good as the iphone unless people like you stop buying their products and teach them a lesson. sure every new phone has its issues but whatever happened to QC testing. this was a rushed product and a botched job. by the time blackberry pull their finger out and resolve these issues there will probably be a newer model iphone that will be so amazing i can't even begin to describe what it'll be capable of. sorry barry but BB can RIP. iphone is the future
