Storm really needs Wi-Fi it would definitely be better. Best phone by Blackberry is still the Bold but im anxiously waiting for a new touch-phone by Blackberry.
fones4u are SHITE!!!, 20 Feb 2009Can someone tell me what the difference between the Storm 9500 & Storm 9530?
Having looked ... moreDifference is 9530 has CDMA2000 2 go along with HSDPA. Physically, u cud never tell.
how is possible a PDA phone in the 21 century without WLAN??? it's not worthy
Can someone tell me what the difference between the Storm 9500 & Storm 9530?
Having looked at the specs for both handsets, I cant see any difference between the two.
if your looking to get a better BLACKBERRY. go for the BOLD. the Storm is not what its supose to be. Apple has the only rite to use the type of touch screen as the iphone, that is why the storm you actually have to push in the screen not like the iphone. I persionally am not a fan of the iphone i love blackberrys, but if i had to choose, i would go 100% for the iphone over the Storm!..
Maybe the next fiew generations of the storm will be better but this current one doesn't live up to the hype at all!
To be very frank...iPhone has set a standard..and till date no phone manufacturer has reached those standards considering the user interface only...they have come pretty close ...look at SE XPERIA X1... the design is awesome ..i must say....but what about the OS...Its still Windows...the processor speeds have gone up..but its still slow...i never expected XPERIA to be this slow..I haven't had my hands on BB storm...but yes BBs are faster than windows based mobile atleast and user friendly too..have seen a friends curve...theres something about iPhone that makes it irresistible... we all know iPhone has some basic features missing...but stil everyone wants one...
CONS : No WLAN , screen colour only 65k, Expensive, Better options avialable
lucian, 14 Feb 2009both are great phones. the 2 phones is really my personnal choices, and i end up with the ipho... moreHave a look at Blackberry's web site there is loads of really practical applications to put on you phone. None of the rubbish you get with others but stuff for serious use.
Bill, 14 Feb 2009Can you compare this phone to Iphone.I am having this phone and i want to know the difference ... moreIphone, i have both and, my personal choice, its the iphone that gets my vote, still nothing can compete with apples touchscreen, far easier to use, the storm is excellent but not as good.

Specs difference, if you buy this storm, it has mms, bluetooth already, iphone dont,as it only supports bluetooth accesories but not for sending files. but storm has no wifi, and iphone has, which i think is more important than bluetooth and mms, and iphone can have mms because you can download it in itunes applications and install.
iphone has touchscreen, really smooth and sensitive touch navigation like no other phone can match, storm has the "surepress" lcd from what blackberry called it. the "surepress" is the whole screen becomes a single button that you will press for selection.
the blackberry storm software lags and has delays of reaction sometimes as my experience from my friend's storm. my iphone never has single delayed of reaction.
but all phones hangs up sometime as its only man made.
and iphone has a restart button to press when it hungs up, that is why its very user friendly, not like other phones that you need to take off the battery to turn it off and put it on and turn it on again when it hungs up.
People only sees and complain that about iphone's lack of basic features as it has no mms, no bluetooth but never realize what they can get with the iphone. i dont blame them because they dont have one. because if you buy iphone it does not stop there because 15,000 application is waiting for you to download and install it to your iphone. its like if you buy it you can go to itunes and you select what you need to use and install it. its like its really designed for yourself. unlike blackberry storm and other phones that its already done and complete when you buy it, and you dont have a choice to delete what you dont need. you have the apple store or powermac center to visit if you like some accesories and stuff for your iphone, very fun and convenient. for storm where can you find stuffs for it? very limited. That is why i end up with iphone.

I was skeptical with all the reviews but did not want to leave Verizon and wanted a full touch screen phone. It has exceeed my hopes so far (after 1 week). Great reception, battery life, clear screen - can read without glasses, email is great. I have not yet learned all of the settings and options but so far I could not be more pleased. I actually had trouble with the screen in the store but after a few days I came to love the click screen and typing options - just takes some getting used to. There is ocassionally a very slight lag in moving between programs but this is very slight and the other advantages far outweigh that. I reocmmend it.
Talked to a very techy Sprint user today.
His experience was that you can roam from Sprint to Verizon if you have a Sprint contract.... BUT
You won't get EVDO Rev A. I think he was really saying that the most you get when you roam is 1xRTT, which means you don't get call+data simultaneously or the higher speeds when you roam. Makes sense from a business standpoint.
In any case, he concurred that Verizon's coverage and data network was the best of the best. But we both observed you can get more features for less money, and less phone disabling, on the Sprint plans. So if you were in a very good Sprint coverage area, and tended to stay there, then Sprint might be a good choice over Verizon.
