Had a Bold 9000 and 9700 and now I upgraded to 9800.
I was able to transfer every thing without any problems.
The Torch is a breeze of BB tech,Fast and professional.
With the new OS 246 is even better.
On the other side Heats up a little bit after talking for a while or surfing in the internet.
Battery charge is variable depending on how much internet you do.
Overall is much better that its predecessors.

all in all this phone is a nice peice of userfriendly technology.
the battery dies pretty quickly when texting and using bbm, but that may have something to do with the fact that i didn't propperly charge it at the begining.
the loud speaker, i find, amazing.
and the image quality is good enough to watch any of my favorite movies.
also, the fact that there is expandable memory up to 32 gig (potentially higher in the future) is a big plus for me.
all in all, love it.
iam useing 9800 is very nice 5 megapixel camera is amzing iam happy to useing this phones

With concern to your query I tried to edit a word document on word to go software in torch and you will be glad to know that basic editing is possible, even in the standard version, bt you may not be able to create a new doc on torch itself, u cn only do basic editing in standard version, and if you are ready to pay some extra bucks, torch has everything what Ms word has.
Hope it helps.
Why dont you just save blank doc versions on your Torch? If you want to create one from scratch, just edit them, its the same thing. Thats what I do and it works for me. Its like i'm creating a new doc from scratch. Try it!
ross, 15 Dec 2010I have to choose between a nokia n8 and a blackberry torch.... the nokia have more features bu... moreHey man,
The N8 is a much better multimedia phone as compared to the Torch. 12mp and 720p video... HDMI connection on your LCD TV... USB on the go for your flash drives and other Nokia mobiles... its not even close.
THe Torch however, is a much better business handset with superior data security. And those Berries give you corporate eliteness too. Also, the BB App World offers much better apps than the Noia Ovi Store, so I guess you can say that the Torch is the smarter smart phone. Finally, the Torch has a qwerty keyboard aside from the touchscreen.
The N8 is way cheaper than the Torch though, if you can afford it, I'd say buy BOTH :) You can't go wrong either way
Just bought the BB Torch 9800 for my wife today! She's upgrtading from a Curve 8520 and I must say that BB OS 6 has gone a long way from 4.6.
Just one gripe though, when the slider is shut and I tap on the touchscreen, it sorta wobbles specially when I'm tapping near the power key. Its kinda uneven and is a concern.
Anyway, I bought it for Php 30,000 (600 euros)so I hope it doesnt break easily.
ANyone here noticed the same on their Torch?
HR, 14 Dec 2010Hey BB Torch Users! Could MS Office documents be edited? thanks.Yes they can through the DataViz ToGo applications. They are pre-installed. The limitation is that the pre-installed apps do not allow creating a new document. The paid version of the app, not only allows creating a new document, but has a PDF application for download as well as a "Documents To Go Files" app that let's you browse your files. Check with the AppWorld for pricing.
