lee, 10 Dec 2010Hi guys For you who has torch Is the torch come with doc viewer or doc edit? Thnxyes. can edit too. but doesnt support protected documents with password. it cannot create new file. but just open any file, delete everything in it and save as.

i have now just refreshed the softwere and ever since there has been a problem with my handset and now its not turning on it gets stuck on the network providers logo when rebooted and i cant do anything i have tryed to hard reboot and reboot in safe mode and nothing is working pls help if you can

i just received my Torch yesterday & i wasted no time in fiddling w/ the settings & transfering info over from my Bold, via the DM.
1st & foremost, if any1 has preconceived perceptions of any other models or phone make, u need to compare apple to apple, cant quite compare apple to blackberry (pardon the pun). they're both built for different specifics.
on the whole, the look & feel of the Torch looks a lil more sleek than all other blackberry models, despite its size, it's physically slightly slimmer than the Bold 9000. the interface & transitions may seem a lil rigid, but that's 1 of the many things i actually appreciate in the Torch.
i was quite impressed by the definition & clarity of the screen when trying out the media player/video. but i guess the audio lacks the reverb & sound depth (perhaps due to the compact composition).
camera taking clarity & the different setting available makes it a lot handier for amatuer photography, especially when travel journaling & sharing pics on social network mediums.
i've all along been a fan of qwerty keypads, but it takes a little getting used to, on the touch screen keyboard. alternating between input languages is also very comprehensive, and is a breeze to make the selection. otherwise, the shortcut keys gives you the previous alternate input language. having the luxury of an on screen keyboard, there's literally no need of modifiying the physical keyboard.
with just a few touches & tweaks on the settings via the easy accesses on the homepage, i'm really impressed that i didnt have to refer to the user guide at all.
so far, i've yet to push the limits & punish the specs, to see how valid the ratings are, but this ive a feeling i wont be disappointed.

amrbpc, 09 Dec 2010I am using this phone for one week it is great but I can not download google maps I can not do... morei just received my Torch yesterday, the blackberry maps is already onboard. i've also downloaded googlemaps on my Torch too.

michelle, 08 Dec 2010step by step where is the blackberry messenger on 9800 torchim not going by step by step but on the home screen look for instant messaging folder. click it and BBM should be inside.

I had a BB 8520. Under folders you could exclude a folder, not to be viewed by anyone else. I upgraded to to Torch 9800.... Excellent phone! But can not find the command or exclude a folder. Can anyone help me to exclude a folder..... please!!!

I've got this torch just last week. To me we should never pressed the screen just to slide it open or to close it back because this is the most sensitive part. My complaint is that the poor design of the slider touch screen which tapered at the bottom end which is not strong to the push. In just 2 days normal used it had wobbled...

i am quite interested in torch, but i look at the specification, it can only view document wherelse other models can edit.
those who hv used this, any 3rd party program that allow us to edit documents?
i use alot of documents so i need to edit it.
