Hey everyone, I just got the phone on a new plan with my carrier after completing the 2-year iphone contract and here's my summary:
The good things about the torch are:
1. The design: the phone is really cool, fancy, elegant and the slider gives it a very nice touch.
2. instant messaging: blackberry chat, windows live messenger, google talk, yahoo messenger, etc. they all work like a charm. I always get notifications from my contacts right away. The chat is amazingly good.
Other than that......my iPhone 3G was better in every way! Email, web browsing, you tube, weather, maps, and the interface is so much nicer.
I currently have them both, but I can only use one at a time but my bottom line is that BB is great for chat, for everything else get an iPhone!
It basically depends on what you want the most.
fgh, 26 Oct 2010tnxxx for your full description. whats the different between email and push email? or they are... moreHi Frnds ,
Im not able to decide .. between torch and wild desire please advice .. i need it for corp email etc etc
but need a decent battery back up (as one of my frnd complains 1 day battery back up on BB bold ) .. and the loud speaker is not tht good ? Thanks
The tourch is awsome and David in my opinion go for the tourch it runs the blackberry os 6.0 this is the best os bb has made so far the cpu is also great and the memory and like all bb phone`s free internet browsing on the device so youcan face book aal day long and pay nothing now is`nt that awsome.
Guys I really need a fast reply from any one of torch users...please let me know how is the keypad when compared to bb 9700...Is it easy to type or are keys much more compact when comparison with bold 2??...thanks
David, 27 Oct 2010Hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me make a decision? i really cant decide between... moreDear david even I'm also using torch its great experience with that phone even my usage so I like tat keypad its pretty good and as per me very good handset so buy it or give me call abt it I nw each n everything abt it 9880800121
i advice you to buy the nokia e7... better than the bb and the htc...... RIM must really work on their phones .....
David, 27 Oct 2010Hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me make a decision? i really cant decide between... moreYes David listen carefully to the call quality on the Desire, it is not good as it does not have a voice cancelling microphone.
Hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me make a decision? i really cant decide between getting the torch or a htc desire, basicaly i use the phone for texting, facebook and phonecalls, thats about it. any good/bad points i should be aware of before bying either?
LOVE the torch.. i have the 9700 and i can not wait for it to reach here in Trinidad via my work... ( Digicel )
wow i really love this phone. It is the first bb i have used. Everything about it is excellent
Torch is nice but the phone hangs. battery is 1 and 1/2 days.Iphone does not get stuck- battery is also 1 and 1/2 day.Dont compare blackberry to Iphone. Blackberry is more for Business and professional who want to be in touch all the time on email.Iphone is
more a casual phone.Use the Mobile me on the iphone and the mails will get pushed to you like the blackberry
All I can say is I CANT WAIT TO GET MY BB TORCH.
You guys should also consider the country you're in before comparing BB and iPhone.
I'm currently using Curve and I like it except not having voip and yes the battery as well.
Hi, I just purchasr torch this is amezing phone, touch is much better for strom 2 I like this phone
Hi, i have seen and held the BB9800 in my hands, and i must add that this mobile is HEAVY. I have the BB8900 which is much lighter than the Torch, and i am extreamly happy with it. I like the look, and the new Operating system is awsome on the Torch. RIM: PLEASE CAN YOU DO ANYTHING REGARDING THE SOUND/VOLUME ON THE TORCH. IT IS SOFT AND I HEARD IT FOR MY SELF. My BB8900 is much louder. The other thing is, doesn't the Torch come out with a Battery Saver Pounch like the ones for the BB8900 & BB9700? Your pouches are real life savers for the Battery. I am due for an upgrade next year March, and i hope my comment has come to the ears of RIM regarding the Sound/Volume. I am hard at hearing but my 8900 is LOUD.
its really great phone ever had in all my live
i advice all people to got it
I like the torch but my friend is trying to talk me out of it, and to get a iphone. Has anyone had both and can say which they like better? Not a gamer, but I heard the pictures suck on the torch that you can see the mp and it's not a true mp. My friend is an I.T. guy.
fgh, 26 Oct 2010tnxxx for your full description. whats the different between email and push email? or they are... morethere is no physical difference as both are email, the advantage of the push service is that you get an alert on your handset to let you know you have a new email also the ability to view/edit/forward/add attachments to the email if desired. it basically saves the hassle of signing in on a computer and sifting through your emails to find what you need. other handsets offer this service without the need for s specific service to be active but unfortunately their batteries cannot handle this service being active for prolonged periods. overall blackberries are a near perfect product. they dont offer the most advanced in mobile technology but what they do offer works perfectly. alot of people unfairly compair blackberry to the likes of iphone, android and other smartphones due to the lack of technological advance but they also fail to see the keye points and advantages that blackberry handsets also offer over such handsets.
overall if you are unable to get full service from a blackberry handset in your country it may be a wasted purchase but hopefuly soon you'l be able to share the blackberry love.
hope this helps you :)
