Come on guys you not helping much all your comments are great but I really need a great phone for business, user friendly and a sleek finish.
Its very hot n trully like a torch or its revolutionary in blackberry os 6. Its really amazing or awesome model in blackberry phones.

I am not crazy about touch screens/sliders. That's just my opinion.

Flare22, 11 Oct 2010Im torn between the Galaxy S and the Torch, currently using 2 phones(Omnia and Curve), between ... moreGalaxy S sucks because it doesn't have a camera flash and its usual cheap tacky plastic Samsung and modded crummy UI (TouchWiz os crummy, Android is great).
BB over the Galaxy. Now the real challenge is SE Xperia X10 vs. Torch vs. Nokia E7.
Iphone sucks, throw that in the garbage along with Steve Jobs. Matter of fact along with the new Windows Mobile 7 with crazy Bill Gates and his mass depopulation plans and killer vaccines.
first thing is first...this phone also has an accelerometer. i dont know why gsm arena guys dint mention it. secondly, i just got this phone and i must say i am very much pleased. i cannot comment on the battery life right now since i just got it but unlike 8520 which i have, i am very much excited and looking forward to operating this phone. will give a detailed opinion in a few days.
I have 9700 and i cant live without it, but i think to get 9800
what i will miss in 9700
i have been using this since launch and i have got many good advise along the way. for the first few weeks my battery life was really bad. then i got some advise saying that lower your back light percentage. it works very well after that. I am using it at 10%. it helps the battery life. overall, it is not a fun phone but it get things done according to what it is needed to. but if the signal area is poor, your battery will run out faster. and your phone will be bit hot too..
but i need some advise here. I know torch has a built in device memory of 4gb. and i place a 16gb card in it. how do i change the storage destination. ( not the APPs ) but for videos, songs and pics.
2nd. how do i turn off the camera shutter sound, it is still on even in silent mode. any idea?
I love my torch!! have had it for almost a week now and i just keep finding new things about it. question for anyone else, how long does your battery last? i know it varies depending on what you use it for but typically how long does your batter life last?
if you had a chooice between bold and torch which one would you go for ? this is for a heavy business user !
I've been using the Torch for more than a week now, all I gotta say is that it's AMAZING! Smooth touch screen, nice keyboard, display is clear, and it runs smooth. The best phone I bought so far and I'm glad I did. It's a complete device, not a toy like iPhone 4.
karan, 12 Oct 2010i want know which one is better operating system blackberryos 6.0 or Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo)p... morethe nice OS is the Android 2.2 froyo its b'coz you can customize your phone the way you want..one thing about the Blackberry is that they are dependent to there Carrier you cannot download apps,if your not activated your BIS(Blackberry Internet Service)...
I have used the torch already and love the interface and os 6.0 of the handset, I must say i would only use the touch screen for the menu and still use the keypad for any typing on the handset.
I have just ordered my new handset now and i have the os6 on the 9700 so the new system is amazing and very fast on the bold (just as fast as the torch)
This is the best handset that blackberry have brought out they have done their homework on the touch screen and camera as well.
Well done blackberry!!
blackberrian, 12 Oct 2010slow??in terms of what bro?I've been using this phone for a month now, buy it at Rm 2400. reason i bought this phone due to my 9700 having chip issues and need new phone urgently
IMHO for that price nothing much that i can say except for it has bigger screen, no lag issues and it has better software and hardware and to pay for that amount to getthe phone....u better think twice
So better wait for the price to drop
I cannot read attachments on my Bold as the typeface is too small and zooming in cuts off too much of the document.
Although the Torch screen is bigger it looks like much of it is taken up with touchscreen. Has anyone tried reading attachments on it and is there any difference/
prakash, 13 Oct 2010This gadget is really nice one still the resolution is lower than expected..guess really perfe... morei was at the Nokia N8 City Launch yesterday and got to play with the handset for about 25 minutes. no doubt the resolution for the photos is very good, but in general the icons and menu's look outdated, as the same have been carried forward since several years. BB 9800 resolution may be lower compared to the other handsets that boast of AMOLED and S-AMOLED and what not, but for a business user like me, the screen res. doesnt make a lot of difference as long as it is legible and clear and does the job.
