This is a phone I want to like, but it is already getting very lukewarm reviews. Given it is likely to be on the same price plans in the UK as many other high end devices, can anyone really make out a strong argument for this phone. What will it do, or better than some of the Android kits? I notice its ratings on this cite are falling.
Greg+, 15 Aug 2010Soooo EXPENSIVE, SO little in features???? not worth it at all!if you think it has so little features...what mobile are u using??iphone 500??this is one of the 3 most powerfull mobioes now..galaxy s,iphone 4 and this
I am looking forward to this being released in the UK, it's got to be better than what they've already produced for sure? Maybe we'll have to wait until the Torch 2 just like we had to wait for the Storm 2 before all the issues were ironed out?
These are the same people who made the BB Storm with a return rate of 95%, wonder if the Torch will be close to that number? Face it RIM, you can't design a touch screen smartphone. Stick with the garbage you know well. I don't like BB after my Storm experience.
nick, 11 Aug 2010I would be careful. I think some Middle Eastern countries have banned Blackberries.nope.. none have and they wont..
Just played with the BB Torch (also another Orange UK employee here). Best blackberry ever. Touchscreen far more responsive than the Storm. A bit big maybe, but not a pocket buster.
Research In Motion , 14 Aug 2010never you idiot ... fido carrys lower end phones...yo why you callin me an idiot?
you got issues.
Hey all, just to let everyone know that ORange Uk will be doing this in the next couple of weeks, free on 24 month contract at £35, i work in one of the flagship stores and we have all been given them to try out before we start selling and it is an amazing device people. WELL WORTH IT... :)
well... every thing is fine but im not much impressed abt the camera part. It would have been better if the camera would have been in mega pixels atleast 2MP...bcoz its blackberry vr talkin abt...
got one from wirefly for 99.99 USD 2year contract with ATT tax included/free shipping.awesome!!!
When will it come out in Canada? and When will it be released in the Canadian Phone Carrier "Fido"?
thomas, 13 Aug 2010To all of you torch users do not buy a case for this phone all cases put the phone in holster ... morethats the whole idea it puts it to sleet so that you save battery. there are many cases that will not put it to sleep
david, 13 Aug 2010the touchscreen is not sensitive.. it logs upi used at a convention..it seemed to be awesome
The phone is priced at €999,- which is WAY too much, compared to the 9700 Bold which is priced at €435,-. I really wanted this phone after my 9700 next month, but no thanks.
