Remember Nokia N9 or Pureview 808? or some Palm OS phones?. Even assuming that BlackBerry vanishes from the face of earth in the next second, you will get enough spares for a couple of years more. Heck, I still get batteries and even display for my Pureview 808.Not to mention enthusiastic modified custom firmwares.
Just take the plunge and you will never be disappointed.
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2014What about the battery life???Battery life..hmm. I am not a guy going after too much of battery life calculation or benchmark scores. I recharge when I feel like :).
Having said that, reminding that 10.3 is still a 'leak' (beta, if you like), I feel battery lasts 16 hours for moderate use. 2 hours music, parallel 4-5 hours of kindle reading, an hours of calls, constantly polling gmail, facebook, crackberry, linkedin and gtalk. Off are wifi ( only on demand) NGC and Bluetooth.
Does this answer your question?
Anomynous, 08 Jun 2014And does 10.3 let you log out of BBM? Or disable BBM?
I guess not? This is becoming a huge... moreThing is, bbpin in bb devices are special-- each device is associated with a bbpin. That's the point of bbm. And owning a bb. It's uniqueness. If you don't want to use bbm, just don't reply to bbm's and after some time, I'm sure people will stop bbm you.
It's hard to say, but who owns a bb device and able to resist using bbm anyways?
Remesh, 10 Jun 2014Yes, it is true. No uninstall option for BBM.i think its not very important BBM is one of the default apps on BB phones if we have BB phones must have BBM too
Anonymous, 10 Jun 2014BBM cannot be uninstalled. Its not optional when using BB10. Yes, it is true. No uninstall option for BBM.
i like this phone....but the one thing that keeps me from getting one is that it seems that blackberry could close any time with all their financial troubles....really sad...but it is a great phobe
Anomynous, 08 Jun 2014And does 10.3 let you log out of BBM? Or disable BBM? I guess not? This is becoming a huge... moreHave you ever tried the Z30? Don't think so... are you moving back to android and are you worried about Z30 security? C'mon! Stop trolling people, go to other forum and Rest In Peace. See u in the Cloud.
I have been using the z30 before I started using the galaxy S5 to the best of my knowledge, I preferred the BlackBerry to the s5. Apart from the water proof and the health app that is loaded in the s5, the z30 is far better
Z30 is a great phone...and BlackBerry os is a unique os...good battery...can't wait for the latest version of os..
Anomynous, 08 Jun 2014And does 10.3 let you log out of BBM? Or disable BBM? I guess not? This is becoming a huge... moreI did not understand what exactly you are saying. For me it is simple. If I don't need BBM, I just uninstall it. Do you think BBM keep you logged on permanent even if you uninstall it ? Sorry, I never tested that option.

I guess not? This is becoming a huge problem now, imagine if Facebook and Twitter registered you as a new user and logged you in PERMANENTLY (with no option to log out or delete your account) when you activated a new phone? Its unthinkable, yes, but its exactly what BlackBerry does to us with BBM.
I can no longer recommend BB10 pones, the OS is great but the privacy violation is too severe.
And what about custom search engines, now with iOS8 you can even choose DuckDuckGo as your default search in iPhone, more freedom in iOS than in BB, isnt that weird?? Indeed it is strange but true.
And Google/Android? Gooogle been very intrusive in their effort to force people to use their lame Hangouts app for text and chat but there is an option to disable the entire Hangouts service on Android phones. You cant comment on Play Store or Youtube without a Google+ account but you are not forced to use Google+. Now we are seeing a miracle, Google being LESS intrusive than BlackBerry! Google, the king of privacy violations, will allow you to unregister but BB doesnt???
I love BB10 but with forced BBM i dont feel welcome as a BB10 user, i have to go back to Android =(
I have installed 10.3.0.296 on yesterday, in my Z30. Have to say the improvement Blackberry made with this 'beta' version is amazing. New look and feel, improvements in camera, video player etc are noteworthy. In two years, evolution of this OS in features wise are tremendous. Feels like I am using a brand new phone.
Akinw, 02 Jun 2014Best phone on the market so far, great for emails, video, pictures, social media, security, goo... moreI agree, I think this phone is the best, coming from the limited bb7 OS and Xperia Z/S4/android platform. And the keyboard is simply the best-- auto correct gets it right every time, the simplicity and productivity of the OS makes everything a breeze with the phone.
Only thing I wish BlackBerry improves on is the auto focus, I don't mind 8mp as it's decent enough for media and social usage (come on, we have real cameras for heavy photographing anyways right), but I always miss those crucial, spur of the moment event because of the quite slow focusing ability of the phone's camera. Otherwise it's the best phone I've used to date.
Best phone on the market so far, great for emails, video, pictures, social media, security, good battery life and fast processor what else could you ask for in a phone? The app store is however lagging behind, I hope they permit Android and Microsoft apps to work on BlackBerry once this is achieved the phone will be superior to all other devices of its time.
