Blending the iPhone 4? Yep, that's something we could do!

Apple iPhone Misc

On this episode of 'Will it Blend?', host Tom Dickson asks his guest, the iPhone 4, just that. Also, a surprise appearance by someone who looks a lot like Steve Jobs and the Apple Task Force - you know, the guys that patrol bars for forgotten Apple prototypes.

If you’ve somehow been sheltered from Internet exposure these last years and haven’t heard of the ‘Will it Blend?’ meme, you can read up on it on the Know Your Meme encyclopedia. The idea is simple - put something against Blendtec's most merciless blender and see if it comes out in one piece against (spoiler: there are hardly any gadgets that do).

Here it is, the iPhone 4 versus a Blendtec blender:

The iPhone 4 seems to be putting up more of a fight than the iPad did - but the consensus is that Tom Dickson cheated and removed the aluminum back of the iPad before blending it.

Still, watching that strengthened glass on the iPhone 4 blend to dust is more fun, even if less informative, than properly disassembling the iPhone 4. Oooh, FaceTime smoke, don't breathe this!

P.S. If you haven’t figured it out, Blendtec sells blenders and this ‘Will it Blend?’ thing is just clever viral marketing. If it can blend an iPhone 4, it can surely blend a margarita, right?
