Apple Smart wearables Rumors

Earlier this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared a detailed roadmap for Apple’s upcoming wearables, including a more affordable and lighter Vision Air, which was set to launch in 2027.

A new report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple has stopped work on the Vision Air and is going all-in on its smart glasses instead, as it aims to expedite its Meta Ray-Ban competing device. According to the report, Apple has begun transitioning engineers from the Vision Air development to the smart glasses project.

Bloomberg: Apple is pausing its Vision Air development and going all-in on smart glasses

Based on the previous report, Apple’s smart glasses were supposed to enter mass production in Q2, 2027, but we can now expect that date to sometime in 2026.

The first-generation Apple glasses will offer several material finishes for the temples and frames, and no built-in display. They are set to feature Apple Intelligence with multiple cameras providing Visual Intelligence features.

Apple is also working on extended reality (XR) glasses with liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) displays, voice controls and gestures. These are expected to enter mass production in Q2 2028.

The VR fad is dead and AR you can actually look through is where the market is going to go. Can imagine it will one day replace phones altogether.
