CES 2015: Asus Zenfone 2, Zenfone Zoom hands-on

Unfortunately the Asus Zenfone Zoom was locked away and we didn't get a proper hands-on with it.

Asus had a "look, don't touch" policy for the Zenfone Zoom

It has the same hardware base as the Zenfone 2, but by adding just 1mm to the overall thickness of the phone Asus found room for a 3x optical zoom lens. It has optical stabilization too.

The rest of the camera specs are essentially the same as on the Zenfone Zoom's sibling - a 13MP sensor with 1080p video capture and a dual-LED flash. Asus did add an LG G3-style laser autofocus to speed up shooting.

The Asus Zenfone Zoom will come with as much as 128GB of storage, though Asus is mum on the lower bound - the Zenfone 2 drops to as low as 16GB.
