Consumer Reports just called the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge "perhaps, the best phones." CR (along with consumers) wasn't happy with some of the changes that the S6 brought on, but the S7 aced most tests.
The S7 and S7 edge topped Consumer Reports ratings. The battery life is Excellent (especially in the dark) and so is the still camera. The 1080p camera was rated Very good, "among the best we've tested in a smartphone."
The redesigned body - its water resistance and its rounder edges (that make it easier to hold) were also praised. The return of the microSD slot was appreciated while the sealed battery doesn't seem to have lowered scores much.
