It would be great if every phone with "scratch-resistant" display had that expression in the specs, so if one searches for that expression, all of them would be listed. like iphone 4 and some others. Thanks.

I have had my Streak now for 3 weeks, updated to 2.2 and so far had no problems at all. The phone is great to use and the size is perfect for a man with man size hands. The key board in portrait is a bit hard to use so I use it in landscape all the time. For me it beats the iphone I tried for a few days and handed back. Yes its big but that makes it easy to use and easy to see.
Well done Dell for doing something different. It would have been even better with a btton querty keyboeard that slides out from the back

i ordered my dell streak a few days back.. expecting it any moment.. i am regretting my buying decision.. after i ordered it, i re ad on mydellmini forum the numerous cases of the display getting thrashed with the slightest drop (but, nothing happens to the gorilla glass) and the very expensive dell streak accessories which can be bought only from dell, coz, there are not many 3rd party vendors manufacturing it.. Worst buying decision in a long timt.. Dell is HELL.

dude eclair does not have flash player...its froyo update has flash !! dont mis-guide ppl...i ve been using the streak fer the past 3 months.... the phone is great...its fully loaded after updating to froyo OS....battery life is suited fr one working day...display clarity is great...the phone is sleek and not like galaxy tab (box-like)...between galaxy tab nd streak i wud surely reco the streak because of the scorpion processor which is gr8 and a typical dell product...

A word on Gorilla Glass. Its not indestructible. Its more resistant than normal glass and by far. I have seen a Dell Streak with a cracked glass. Thankfully it was under warranty (private warranty offered by the store). The value of the glass alone is 14.5k (Indian rupees).

Gorilla glass is what is used to make helicopter windshield and simply put, its indestructible glass... Nonetheless, I have heard cases of display getting damaged on dropping... My sincere advise would be to buy a body cover (case mate - shouldn't cost more than Rs.1,500) to offer some protection to your Rs.34,000 cell phone... I think anyone buying a high-end touchscreen phone would definitely do that...

patrick, 04 Feb 2011Does anyone know if the device is ebook capable -Yes, it is pretty good with eBooks especially when you use a dedicated app such as Aldiko. You'd better convert the books to ePub format before reading. For PDF files, though, the screen is too small to read.

hey guys, just need some advice, on my second streak, as my 1st one charging port went, now with this one, when ever i try to down load any thing, it crashes reboots, tries to download, crashes and repeats, any ideas???
