And what about the worse phone voice quality, echos, many user complaints. Does the next ROM-update solve that problem?
Yes it can be used in America
I spent a lot of time looking around about this phone and the mio a701, and this was definitly the choice to make. However everybody keeps complaining about the lack of wifi. My opinion... quit complaining. you can't get both yet but it is easier to have this phone with a wifi sd card than it is the other way around.
Can it be used in North America ?
this looks like a fantastic phone...would havr been a perfect all-in-one gps/pda/ppc/phone if there's a wifi.
a number of reviews here:

there's already some detailed preview of this gps pda/phone. one very interesting feature that was not listed in th eofficial spec is the FM radio. if there's a mini SD SDIO WiFi card, i would definitely choose this over mio 701.
here's the preview of this phone:

You can compare the eten G500 with the Mio A701 in the review of the last mentioned:
http://www.mobinaute.com/mobinaute/article.php?id=20060324145418
In French though, but with nice pictures (of both) and Benchmark scores in English
You can also wait for the summer products: HTC-Trinity= QTEK S310, QTEK G200 (complete PDA's with GSM, PDA, A-GPS and WiFi)
I'd be interested in a comparison of the Mio A701 and the E-Ten G500. They are quite similar. The main differences as far as I can tell are that the G500 has voice command software, quad-band, and TMC function, but a mini-SD slot rather than SD. Does anyone know if this mini-SD is sdio capable for adding WIFI? The mio SD slot is SDIO.
On paper, then, the E-Ten looks like it offers a bit more, but I'd have to see a complete review of both to be sure.
Does anybody knows if is it possible to register the GPS coordinates in the pictures?
Can you add wifi to this with a minisd? Anyone have any experience?
thas anyone know if you can use with the gps. tomtom software maps. thnks
is this phone can be used as voip with skype ???
This does look like a pretty good phone....good spec, but it does not look nearly as cool as Mitac Mio A701.....now that's a good looking PDA/GPS/Phone combo....
What do you think?????
This has built in GPS - hardly standard. There is the HP 6515 of course and the soon to be released MIO A701 so this will be one of the first Windows pda/phones around.
It looks funky and is a reasonably small size. I dont care about wifi so I cant really see any downsides so long as it works ok.
This or the JAM? They are similar sizes, but this will run Mobile 5 so will be more up to date. For me the addition of GPS means that this should be the better bet.
Anyone out there... Is this comparible with an IMATE JAM? Besides the specs, processor and shape... What would you choose? All feedback accepted :)
the difference is this is phone not just a pocket pc, this is the first if im not mistaken with built in gps (phone/pocketpc)
why spend all that money on research or did they, thinking not.......................(its - standard)
I also agreed with the previous posting that the new G500 should have wifi support as well. I would prefer it to be using SD as well and not the Mini-SD for memory expansion.
The HP 6515 already has built-in GPS. Nothing revolutionary about this.
Why they forget to put in WiFi ??? Else the phone will be perfect... sigh...
