Nearly three years on and it's still working perfectly, even after a few drops. Get regular software/security updates too, which is a massive step up from all the phones I previously owned — solid product; recommend.
Still using, 12 Jan 2024I'm still using this phone daily and it is my main phone I use. I have iodéOS installed. ... moreThis phone is just solid and performs fine. Long support too.
I'm still using this phone daily and it is my main phone I use. I have iodéOS installed. I don't have any problems using the phone now in 2024.
I like that the phone's screen is smaller than newer phones. It's much more comfortable for me to use a phone with a screen no larger than six inches, and this phone has a screen less than six inches.
Still using Fairphone 3 as my daily driver, no issues whatsoever. It works relatively snappy for a almost 4 year old phone. This seems to be a thing many people worry about when they consider buying a Fairphone: Does it become unusable in a couple of years since it doesn't have the latest and greatest chipset? Not in my experince. And I will prolong its life by installing Ubuntu Touch on it when I finally decide to buy a new daily driver.

Can you upgrade the processor on this?

Having up to date software is something fairphone did well and is a big problem with most smartphone makers
However performance the processor ram storage and screen need to be flagship tier as strong as possible fairphone specs this smartphone very badly even for when it was new it will not age well at all so this smartphone will be obsolete sooner then a normal flagship
The thing that ages the worsted is always the speed of the smartphone the hardware specs

John, 26 Jul 2021I really find it a shame that this third-gen model is not a flagship-tier smartphone unlike it... moreI 100% agree the fair 3 should of had a flagship snapdragon inside this is a real let down
I really find it a shame that this third-gen model is not a flagship-tier smartphone unlike its predecessor, the Fairphone 2. That one has the same Snapdragon 801 chipset found in the still-popular OnePlus One and also the OnePlus X. I definitely wish to see Snapdragon 860 or 870 on the next fourth-gen Fairphone 4 iteration, that would be sweet.
great phone, shitty chipset. good for average use, games and heavier apps are a no-go. hoping fairphone 4 will adopt a better SoC.
Android 9, then what? Even if you can change the parts it wont hold long until new updates starts coming to apps..

Aadrian, 27 Aug 2020Good to see GSMarena added this brand on their website. yes
It's hard to believe that there is a phone out there that allows you to upgrade the camera module. Definitely rooting Fairphone's effort for a sustainable smartphone with crazy longevity.
