how i can disable the gps satellite in asus a10

This is the WORST phone. After I bought it it stopped working after a month until an update came out 6 months later. The processor is slow... I often can't answer it because the screen won't show the green button as its still trying to figure out if it's a phone or a toaster. I have deleted all the apps to try speed it up and it's still crap.
The camera takes a week to take a photo and for some reason it takes about half an hour to remember how to send a text when you turn it on.
Conceptually it's a great idea, it just needs the hardware to keep up.

mandy, 15 Mar 2012how did you upgrade to 2.1 eclair?? can u guide me please.?If you are in Australia upgrading the A10 is very easy all you have to do is go to the Garmin-asus site and follow the upgrade links everything is explained and I found the update didn't take long to do . Not sure about how to update the phone in other countries though :(

Rushi, 05 Aug 2011This phone buying is worst decision of my life too even I suggested this phone my friends aft... morehiii rushi me too purchased it from CROMA Jalandhar...i juzz love dis phone its best device in dis price range...its navigation is juzz more dan awsum.... i havn't ever encounter ny problem wid d device....m using an iphone 4s too but i always prefer dis phone for navigation...juzz disable d gps satellite wen not in use nd u will found best battery backup among oll other smartphones....i juzz love dis phone...may be u got some faulty devices nd dats y suffering with these problems otherwise trust me dis device is much better than best....

By the way the upgrade is well worth doing as it makes the phone a lot better to use and the battery seems to last a lot longer (well it did for me anyway) .

Purchased A10 on 6th Dec and observed that battery can last long provided you disable GPS functioning in the background. If left enabled, it drains yr battery juice. With fair use of voice and GPS my cell is continuing for 27 hours with last recharge.
A10 comes with 1500MAh battery which is extraordinary. Battery of this size is not found even in the best of phones.

Appreciate it. :) Called the local asus support and they said they'll update it to 2.1. I hope there are updates to the phone, otherwise it'll suck to be stuck in 2.1 when the rest of the world moves forward. Thanks again for your help.

As far as I know there shouldn't be any problems for you to update an A10 to that version .
Not sure if there will be any updates to anything newer though :(
