Those who were complaining about crashing ups, slow UI, less free RAM, etc. Should immediately update to 4.4.2. I am a proud owner of this phone.
Regarding update at service centers, there is some technical issue which hinders OTA update, so be fair to the company because they gave OtA for s5.5.
Stop complaining and enjoy the phone

Godsend, 24 Jul 2014Gionee Elife E7 mini just received 4.4.2 kitkat update but it not available through OTA.......... moreInfact this is strange from Gionee.Other Gionee models like s5.5 got kitkat OTA.I don't understand why people would want to go to service centers for updates.This is ridiculous.

on the 15th day of buying i faced issues with charging since then it is in the service center. very poor response from service center. they are not replacing it either. i would not suggest to but it, I did not read the reviews before buying else would not have bought it. I am launching complaint in consumer forum as well.

This just shows the company isnt good enough on software front(No OTA update, delayed update, poor UI, apps crashing....)& this might be the last update this phone might receive.
So my recoomendation to those buying gionee phone is that dont buy gionee phones unless u want to phone that is good on Hardware front but lags behind on Software...... and u r willing to travel long distance just to update ur phone............

This phone is not good. Sensor is not working. The service center not responding.they don't know how to solve this problem. If u buy ij then you will be in soupe.
