Check out HTC desire 816 with expandable memory upto 128gb , a powerfull phone with better specs at the same price , gionee is just fooling us mediatech processor + no expanding capabilities , not worth it , they should atleast try to compete with international brands ,its no excuse they are indian brands theyl offer less at the same price , noone should but these phones till they raise their standards

The Gionee Elife S5.5 shows that new players can have great phones, where many Indian counterparts have let us down. Gionee tries to deliver a complete package, a custom UI, a great built device, a good set of hardware along with impressive performance and battery life. All this at a fairly low price when compared to the market value of flagships. However it does let us imagine why things like a microSD card slot are left out, features like 4K video capture and 4G networks are ignored for markets like India. Even if as a higher price option, consumers deserve an option to choose a handset which is more capable. And what about those KitKat updates?, why can we not simply get a handset that runs Android 4.4. out of the box.

Regret wasting my money. Facebook does not work. UC browser crashes everytime. Games do not run more than a minute and bounce back to home screen. Tried master reset no avail. I hope there is a solution. Total waste of money :-(

Got this phone 2 days back and was the first buyer in the city. Good design. Though not as slim as expected.
Amazing screen resolution. Very good movie watching experience with head sets. Speakers in built are not loud, but the head sets in ear are very good with very good noise cancellation. The processor seems very fast. No hanging at any point. Multiple apps could be opened. Video could be minimised and watched over the home screen while we browse or do other tasks. Camera is good, with very good features. All in alll very pleased with this phone, though I had gambled on buying a high end phone outside the regular brands. Only doubt is whether the battery will last enough. First day it lasted for 12 hrs with half day of 3G use and mild phone usage.
With movie and music the phone drained 30% over 2 hrs.

Will recommend this phone, and if u r a guy gop for black the rest are all designed to please the other sex.

Yeah I agree the phone looks gud, but after owning it for last 4 days hav make me regret it the phone dose not support the most common apps, even the new updated version of facebook bounces back to homescreen while in use and what to say about the gaming experience bouncing back to homescreen like forever. I had to take the phone to service station even if the phone was 4 days old !
Don't Buy It At Any Cost! I won't take it again even if it was FREE!!!
